    Abstract: A detection unit essentially consists of (I) a plurality of calorimetric detection elements for the conduction flow type calorimeter each consisting essentially of a plurality of thermopiles severally supported on heat sinks and (II) a heat insulating member interposed between the adjacent calorimetric detection elements. A calorimetric measuring member for a conduction flow type calorimeter comprises a pair of the detection units and a sample pipe fixed in place between the pair of detection units.

    Abstract: Process for the production of a stable polymer emulsion by polymerizing a radical-polymerizable monomer having an unsaturated bond in the presence of a water-soluble polymer containing monomer units consisting essentially of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or salts thereof, and an ethylenically unsaturated sulfonic acid or a salt thereof and an anionic surface active agent. This polymerization takes place in an aqueous medium at a pH not higher than 4 in the presence of a water-soluble catalyst. The polymer emulsion of the present invention is much more stable chemically and mechanically than conventional polymer emulsions and the polymers produced by applicants' process have an extremely small particle size making the emulsions immediately suitable for a variety of purposes.

    Abstract: A thermosettable acrylic resin composition for powder coating comprising a mixture consisting essentially of (A) 100 parts by weight of an acrylic resin having a glass transition temperature of 10.degree. to 75.degree. C. and containing (a) 2 to 28 % by weight of a monomeric component containing epoxy group and (b) 0.1 to 8 % by weight of a monomeric component containing carboxyl or acid anhydride group, the gram equivalent ratio of said carboxyl groups to said epoxy groups contained in said acrylic resin being in the range from 1/2 to 1/20 (provided that the gram equivalent of an acid anhydride group is assumed to be equivalent to 2 gram equivalents of the carboxyl group) and (B) 0.5 to 25 parts by weight of a curing agent capable of crosslinking said acrylic resin (A). On being baked at 150.degree. to 220.degree. C. for 10 to 50 minutes, this composition gives a coating film excellent in strength, adherence, and surface leveling.

    Abstract: Granules are prepared by subjecting a crystalline sugar, a basis, adjuvants and a binder-containing solution to a mixing apparatus, followed by crushing and drying by conventional techniques. The resultant products are characterized by having a uniform granular size, good disintegrating properties, relatively great apparent density and abrasion resistance. The basis comprises at least one member selected from the group of penicillin, tetracycline, movobiocin, kanamycin, paromomycin and midecamycin.
