Patent number: 7120808Abstract: Performing power saving control which can be inherited and standardized easily, and which keeps power devices from having to become larger is made possible. A current In flowing through an electrical path is detected as a voltage Vs by a current detection section, and is outputted as a voltage Vout by an amplifying section. When a level corresponding to the voltage Vout exceeds a limit level, a power limit detection section outputs a power limit detection signal. When a controller receives the power limit detection signal via a detection signal holding section, the controller outputs a throttle control command signal. When a chip set receives the throttle control command signal, the chip set initiates throttle control that lowers the clock frequency of a CPU. The present invention may be applied to laptop personal computers.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2003Date of Patent: October 10, 2006Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Atsushi Miyairi, Shinichi Numata, Katsuhiro Hashimoto, Shojiro Sato, Takaaki Morimura, Masataka Suzuki, Soichi Sato, Tamaki Kojima, Hidenori Yamaji

Patent number: 6148257Abstract: In a vehicle equipped with a continuously variable transmission, sensors detect a vehicle speed, an accelerator depression degree and an output rotation speed of the transmission. The minimum required drive shaft drive torque is calculated from the vehicle speed and the accelerator depression degree. A target input rotation speed of the transmission for achieving the minimum required drive shaft drive torque with the least engine fuel consumption is calculated according to the vehicle speed. The input rotation speed is controlled to this target input rotation speed. The target engine output torque to generate the minimum required drive shaft drive torque is calculated, and an engine throttle opening is controlled to obtain this torque. As a result, the required vehicle drive force is obtained with the minimum engine fuel consumption.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 1998Date of Patent: November 14, 2000Assignee: Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shusaka Katakura, Masayuki Yasuoka, Nobusuke Toukura, Shojiro Sato, Yoshinori Iwasaki, Katsuhiko Tsuchiya, Hideaki Watanabe

Patent number: 6112723Abstract: Even when an engine rotates in the inverse direction immediately before stopping, the engine can be accurately activated. In an engine which injects fuel sequentially on the basis of an ignition order of each cylinder, a crank angle of the terminal position of the engine is stored. On the first fuel injection timing after engine activation, fuel is simultaneously injected into a cylinder which is determined from the terminal stored position and into a cylinder in a fixed positional relationship with the first cylinder. In this way, even when an engine rotates in the inverse direction immediately before stopping, fuel injection can be accurately performed at least on a cylinder into which fuel should be injected and the engine can be accurately activated.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1998Date of Patent: September 5, 2000Assignee: Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hiroyuki Itoyama, Takashi Tsuneyoshi, Minoru Arimitsu, Shojiro Sato

Patent number: RE37598Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a continuously variable transmission for use with an automotive vehicle. The transmission is operable at a variable speed ratio for transmitting a drive from its input shaft to its output shaft. A target value for the speed of rotation of the input shaft of the transmission is calculated based on the sensed vehicle operating conditions including vehicle acceleration. A correction factor per predetermined unit time is calculated based on the sensed vehicle acceleration when the sensed vehicle acceleration exceeds a threshold value with the accelerator pedal released. The correction factor is added to the target input shaft speed value to correct the target input shaft speed value in an increasing direction at intervals of the predetermined unit time. The threshold value is decreased as the vehicle speed increases. The speed ratio is controlled to bring the input shaft speed into coincidence with the corrected target value.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2000Date of Patent: March 19, 2002Assignee: Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Nobusuke Toukura, Shojiro Sato, Takayoshi Nabeta, Tadayuki Akiyama
