  • Patent number: 7884970
Abstract: Disclosed are an information processing apparatus and method, a recording medium and a program, by which an image can be fetched in a size appropriate to a user. An image of a subject picked up by a camera is displayed in a predetermined first range corresponding to a size designated in advance within a predetermined display region of an LCD unit which corresponds to an image pickup range of the camera, but the image of the subject picked up by the camera is not displayed in a surrounding range of the predetermined display region around the first range. If a shutter button is depressed in this state, then the image displayed in the first range is stored in the designated size into a memory. The present invention can be applied typically to a PDA, a mobile terminal, a portable telephone set, a desk-top personal computer or the like which has a function as a digital camera.

  • Publication number: 20040171405
Abstract: An information processing apparatus and method is disclosed by which processes relating to recording and displaying of use history information of an IC card can be performed suitably and safely. A CPU activates an application and changes over its mode from an off mode to a polling mode, in which it controls a reader device to detect a contactless IC card positioned near to the reader device. In response to detection of the contactless IC card, the CPU enters into a balance display mode, in which it displays balance information of the contactless IC card for a predetermined period of time. Then, in response to an instruction of a user, the CPU enters a history display-storage mode, in which it displays or stores history information of the contactless IC card into a database. Further, in response to another instruction of the user in the polling mode, the CPU enters into a history deletion mode, in which deletion of history information is performed. The invention can be applied to a PDA.

  • Patent number: 6658527
Abstract: A data recording/reproduction apparatus being connected to a data communication system via a data bus conforming to a predetermined communication format enabling execution of data communication between them. In dealing with a mini-disc™ system capable of recording main data accompanied with auxiliary data, in addition to consumed capacity of audio data, consumed capacity of auxiliary data can also be displayed to enable a user to identify the actually available recording capacity to promote user's handling convenience. Concretely, based on a main data control information, such as a user table of contents (UTOC), and an auxiliary data control information, such as an auxiliary table of contents (AUX-TOC), recorded on the recording medium, actually consumed capacity of the main and the auxiliary data can individually be displayed via a proportional display shown against individual total recording capacity.

  • Patent number: 6097557
Abstract: A transfer protocol in a transfer system adapted for transferring compressed audio signals in a compressed form for recording on a recording medium is disclosed. The management data for managing compressed audio signals recorded on the recording medium are generated responsive to the information sent from the server in order to generate the management data without exchanging the management data between the server and the client. A transfer system in which, if data are previously recorded on the recording medium loaded on the client side, the management data can be edited for additionally recording data on the recording medium without modifying the compressed audio data and management data already recorded on the recording medium, is also disclosed.
