The UV-absorbing filter comprises a transparent UV-absorbing glass plate which contains a UV-absorbing substance; a transparent first and second heat-resistant glass plates which face respective surfaces of the UV-absorbing glass plate; a first and second distance pieces which are made of heat-resistant resin and which are respectively interposed between the UV-absorbing glass plate and the first and second heat-resistant glass plates, in the vicinity of an outer edge of the UV-absorbing glass plate, so as to form a space between them.

The apparatus includes a rod integrator, a holding member, and a flat spring. The rod integrator has a first surface, a second surface that opposes the first surface, a third surface, and a fourth surface that opposes the third surface. The holding member has a first contact surface which abuts the second surface, and a second contact surface which abuts the fourth surface. The first and second contact surfaces have smaller areas than the second and fourth surfaces, respectively. The rod integrator is fixedly mounted to the holding member such that the rod integrator is sandwiched between the holding member and the flat spring mounted to the holding member. Only the projections formed in the spring abut the first and third surfaces.

Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning windows and the like characterized by a housing containing a nozzle for injecting a cleaning solution and a brush being movable under contacting relation with the surface to be cleaned, wherein the end of the housing facing the surface to be cleaned is open to form an aperture and the aperture is closeable by a movable edge of the housing. A wiper is disposed on the movable edge of the housing, being operated through an interlocking mechanism for moving the brush toward and away from the surface to be cleaned, whereby in the case of withdrawing the brush, the aperture of the housing is automatically closed so that the wiper may be fully utilized.
