Abstract: A dielectric composition, including: dielectric grains containing a main component represented by a composition formula [(CaxSr(1-x))O]m[(TiyHfzZr(1-y-z))O2] (m is more than 1.020); a grain boundary phase located between the dielectric grains; and segregation grains each containing at least Ca, Si, and O. A first segregation grain is defined as a segregation further containing Mn among the segregation grains each containing at least Ca, Si, and O, and a second segregation grain is defined as a segregation containing substantially no Mn among the segregation grains each containing at least Ca, Si, and O. N1/(N1+N2) is more than 0.23 and 1.00 or less, in which N1 is a number density of first segregation grains in a cross-section of the dielectric composition, and N2 is a number density of second segregation grains in the cross-section of the dielectric composition.

Abstract: An exhaust device for a machine is disclosed. The exhaust device may have an exhaust-gas purifying member and a cylindrical exhaust port disposed at a downstream end of the exhaust-gas purifying member. Further the exhaust device may have an exhaust passage member extending in a width-direction from a first end to a second end and disposed downstream of the exhaust port. The exhaust passage member may include a first outlet opening disposed adjacent the first end and a second outlet opening disposed adjacent the second end. The exhaust passage member may also include an inlet opening disposed between the first and second outlet openings. In addition, the exhaust passage member may include an exhaust passage leading from the inlet opening to the first outlet opening and the second outlet opening. a sectional flow area of the exhaust passage may be larger than a sectional flow area of the exhaust port.

Abstract: In a database management method, a first database management apparatus comprises a list which holds storage location information indicating a write destination in a second database for data which is added to a first database, the method comprising a first step whereby, when optional data is added to the first database, the first database management apparatus appends the storage location information from the first list to the data, a second step whereby the first database management apparatus transmits the data to which location information has been appended to second database management apparatus and issues a request to add the data to the second database management apparatus, and a third step whereby the second database management apparatus adds the data to the location in the second database indicated by location information appended to the data in response to the data addition request.

Abstract: In order to improve the unbalance of loads imposed on individual database servers at the time of executing individual SQL processing phases, a management computer partitions an inputted query request into the processing phases which are units executable in parallel, calculates resource costs needed for executing the processing phases, assigns the processing phases to the logical computers on the basis of an access right to databases, calculates resource assignment ratios of the individual logical computers in correspondence with the resource costs for the processing phases assigned to the individual logical computers, and assigns assignable resources of a physical computer to the individual logical computers, the assignable resources being equivalent to resource assignment amounts corresponding to the resource assignment ratios.

Abstract: A database management apparatus including an auxiliary storage unit for storing structured data and a database management part for managing the structured data, which extracts all paths showing a storage position of the structured data to be processed from an SQL statement for processing the structured data; when a plurality of the paths are extracted, the database management apparatus compares the extracted paths with each other, and extracts as a common path a common part of both the paths; and processes using the SQL statement the structured data of nodes of the storage position or lower shown by the extracted common path.
