  • Patent number: 11934226
Abstract: Provided is a foldable display that is excellent in mass production applicability and unlikely to have image distortion at the folding portion of the display after repeated folding, as well as a mobile device equipped therewith. The foldable display contains a surface protection film and a polarizer. The surface protection film is composed of a polyester film, and the angle made by the slow axis of the polyester film with the absorption axis of the polarizer is 10 to 80°. The polyester film has a refractive index in the bending direction of 1.590 to 1.620, a refractive index in the direction of a folding portion of 1.670 to 1.700, a refractive index in the thickness direction of 1.520 or less, and a density of 1.380 g/cm3 or more, wherein the bending direction refers to a direction orthogonal to the folding portion of the polyester film to be folded.

  • Patent number: 5511587
Abstract: A diamond-like carbon (DLC) film is formed on a portion of a reed blade in a high-speed loom which requires the highest wear resistance. When a stainless steel is used as the base material of the reed blade, the DLC film is formed through an intermediate layer comprising, e.g., a titanium carbide layer. Reed blades coated with a DLC film are arranged at the side portions of the reed where wear progresses quickly, while reed blades coated with hard films requiring a relatively low cost, or non-coated reed blades, are arranged in the central portion of the reed, thereby uniforming the blade wear throughout the entire reed. The reed is suitable to many types of fibers, ranging from natural to synthetic and new material fibers.

  • Patent number: 4853048
Abstract: A permanent magnetic alloy mainly composed of gold for making magnetic personal ornaments comprises 50 to 75 weight % gold, 12 to 40 weight % palladium and 3 to 15 weight % cobalt. The alloy is gold or white gold in color and can be plastically deformed to a desired shape. The 12, 14 and 18 Karat gold alloys have maximum energy products of 3.0, 2.2 and 0.9 MGOe, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4480010
Abstract: By use of an ion plating apparatus having an ionizing means which can be operated independently of the electric potential of a substrate, at the initial and final stages of the process of ion plating, a negative potential relative to that of a vapor source is applied to the substrate in order to facilitate the bombardment effect and at the intermediate stage of the process, the potential of the substrate is left floating while the ionization means is being driven in order to control the bombardment effect. In a preferred example, the apparatus has thermoelectron emitting filaments located near the substrate and a pair of anodes located on the side of the vapor source with respect to the substrate and on the opposite side of the substrate. This process permits producing relatively thick and adherent coatings.

  • Patent number: 4160241
Abstract: An electrochromic display device comprising a plurality of segment electrodes which are selectively driven by a driving circuit via a plurality of lead members so as to display patterns of uniform density. Each of the segment electrodes is designed such that their areas are substantially uniform. In addition, for those segment electrodes which differ in size, the output impedence of the driving circuit is adjusted. Moreover, the electrical resistance of each lead member is substantially equalized and the drive is controlled in proportion to the number of segment electrodes driven simultaneously.
