    Abstract: A paper clip formed of a single length of wire includes a cross-armed spine that can expand to accommodate increased thicknesses of stacks of loose-leaf paper without loss of gripping strength. A pair of longer arms and a single U-shaped shorter arm are on opposide sides of the stack of paper. The preferred construction uses coated wire.
