  • Patent number: 7747153
Abstract: A camera is provided with an image blur reducing function and rotation means. The image blur reducing function is turned off during rotation in a constant-speed drive pattern in which the rotation means rotates the camera at a constant speed from a start to an end of the rotation operation. The image blur reducing function is turned on during rotation in an intermittent drive pattern in which the rotation means intermittently executes drive operation from the start to the end of the rotation operation.

  • Patent number: 7639405
Abstract: A job, or the copy, is transmitted to a designated destination. A transmission job or a printing job is stored in conjunction with a corresponding execution time in the job storage unit, so that a job can be selected from the job list and the execution time for the selected job can be changed. Further, the jobs stored in the print queue are displayed as a list, and a selected job is moved from the print queue to the job storage unit. In addition, the histories of jobs that were executed are displayed as a list, so that a specific job can be selected and re-executed. When logout is instructed, management data are examined in order to determine whether there is an unprocessed job that was previously instructed by the user. If an unprocessed job is found, the user is notified. If the operator is a manager, a menu is displayed so that all the jobs in the print queue can be deleted. When jobs are deleted, the owners of the individual jobs are notified.

  • Patent number: 7623181
Abstract: A panhead which is capable of appropriately operating an image pickup device by a simple mechanism thereof. A fixed unit is set on a base of a camera-attached panhead. A pan rotation unit is supported on the pan fixed unit, for rotation within a plane parallel with the upper surface of the pan fixed unit. Two parallel-link mechanisms connect between a camera unit and the pan rotation unit and move the camera unit to a predetermined position in which a direction of an optical axis of the image pickup device is able to be maintained, depending on the use mode of the camera unit.

  • Patent number: 7436541
Abstract: A control box is provided for a printer to enable additional information processing, such as transmission of a job and transmission of notifications. The control box is fixed to a plate member that is sandwiched between the printer and a pedestal, so that it can be secured to the printer without drastically altering the printer itself. As another method, wheels are provided for the plate member on which is mounted the control box. The control box is normally placed beside the main body of the printer, and when it can be moved as needed, a door or a tray provided on the side of the main body can be used. An operating panel that is used to enter an instruction for the control box is fixed to one end of a flexible strut that is secured at the other end. With this arrangement, pressure applied by a user can be dispersed.

  • Patent number: 7139718
Abstract: When a schedule is updated, a check is performed to determine whether matters concerning the updated schedule are included in a To Do List, in which all processes to be performed are registered, and a schedule list. When there is an associated undertaking, added to a task table is a notification task for notifying a user and reminding him of the existence of that undertaking. Then, a notification process for reminding the user of the schedule for the pending undertaking is performed under appropriate conditions.

  • Patent number: 6999070
Abstract: A server machine receives a printing job, including information to be printed, and a first print parameter, and based on that information, sets a second print parameter that is suitable for the information and also alters the first print parameter. A printer prints the received information based on the printing parameters that are set or changed. Further, users who submit information that is received are identified and the printed results are stored at storage locations that differ for each user. In addition, information may be requested from an external device, and the requested information printed when it is received. Furthermore, information that is input may be transmitted to external devices to request that those devices process that information. Moreover, when an output device that is designated by a received output instruction is a locally owned apparatus, the apparatus performs the processing as instructed.

  • Patent number: 6947156
Abstract: A remote controller for exchanging information using infrared rays requests the direct transmission of a user interface (UI) to a device to be controlled, such as a printer or a facsimile machine, or the indirect transmission through another device that is connected to the device that is to be controlled. When the UI is returned upon receipt of the request, the menu of functions that the device that is to be controlled can execute using the UI is displayed on the screen of the remote controller, and a command to select function that is selected from the menu is transmitted to the device that is to be controlled.

  • Patent number: 6587861
Abstract: A client generates a request in accordance with an operation initiated by a user, and transmits the request to a server for a local apparatus or to another apparatus. The server interprets the received request, adds a job to a database, and generates and transmits operation screen information to the client. Then, a daemon monitors the database, and detects and performs an executable job. Furthermore, when the local apparatus is designated to display a job list, to select a job therefrom and to print it, the local apparatus processes the job. When another apparatus is designated to process a job, the job is transmitted to that apparatus. When the transmission source of the received job matches a transmission source that has been registered, the execution process is inhibited. The time for executing a selected job is designated and, so that the selected job will be executed at that time, is stored with the job.

  • Patent number: 6587126
Abstract: The name of a job and a corresponding type of process (transmission, printing, etc). are displayed on a job list. When a local apparatus is selected as an apparatus having a job to be processed, the list of the jobs stored in that apparatus is displayed. When another apparatus is selected, a job list is read from the apparatus and displayed. Then, a job is selected from the list and a type of process to be performed is instructed. When the instructed process type matches the process type that is stored with the selected job, a setup change menu is displayed. When the process types do not match, a new setup menu is displayed so that the job can be easily changed or set. When a job for a user is present immediately after the log-in process, the job list is displayed. When a job for a user is not present, the main menu is displayed. In addition, when there is mail that has not yet been read and there is only one relevant mail message, the contents of the mail message are displayed.

  • Publication number: 20030030663
Abstract: A request for the transmission of operation data is transmitted by a remote controller to an object apparatus to be manipulated. When following the request it is found that the operation data can not be accepted, the request for the transmission of operation data is transmitted to a server. The operation data received from the object apparatus or the server are employed to update and save the operation data held by the remote controller, with an operating screen corresponding to the communication status being displayed, so that input manipulation can be performed in accordance with the procedures corresponding to the condition.

  • Patent number: 6477570
Abstract: In an information processing system wherein a printer and a personal computer are connected together, when the printer receives a print job from a scanner, as there are a plurality of processes corresponding to the received printed job, the printer distinguishes between a print process to be performed by the printer and a print notification process to be performed for a user by the personal computer. When the printer initiates printing, it instructs the personal computer to perform the print notification process. Upon receipt of the instruction, the personal computer calls a user to notify the user that printing has been initiated.
