Abstract: A gray cast iron member includes 2.2–2.8 weight % C, 2.3–3.5 weight % Si, 0.2–0.8 weight % Mn, up to 0.1 weight % P, up to 0.15 weight % S, 0.6–1.4 weight % Cu, up to 0.5 weight % Mo, up to 0.3 weight % Cr, and the balance substantially Fe, Si/C being 0.95 or more, (Si/C)/Cu being up to 1.5. Preferably, it further includes at least one of Ni, Sn, V, Sb and N each in an amount of up to 0.3 weight %.

Abstract: A tape control system for use in an automatic program locating system for tapeplayers. The tape control system is responsive to blank or unrecorded spaces between recorded programs and includes a presettable shift register having a succession of bit stages for indicating one or more desired programs to be located and reproduced. The contents of the bit stages are shifted to the next successive bit stage upon every occurrence of a space detection signal generated in response to each sensed unrecorded space on the tape. The outputted content of the last bit stage in the succession is provided to an output-content detection circuit which controls tape speed shifting circuits to shift the tape speed into a normal playback speed or into a fast movement speed in response whether the output of the last bit stage indicates that a selected program is to be read next by the heads of the tapeplayer.

Abstract: Provided is an information block-number setting device which is suitable to a program-reproducing device designed automatically to select a predetermined information block, such as an automatic music piece-selecting device for use in a tape recorder. The information block-number setting device includes a first setting section having a plurality of setters each capable of independently designating one of consecutive informtion block-numbers and a second setting section having a setter capable of designating a specified information block-number arithmetically added to said one of said consecutive information block-numbers designated by the first setting section.

Abstract: A regulated power supply capable of providing an output DC voltage of substantially constant level determined by an AC line voltage to a load irrespective of variations in load current. The regulated power supply comprises first and second rectifiers adapted to generate unregulated DC voltages in accordance with an input AC voltage, a control circuit coupled between the load and the first rectifier and including at least one active device, and a voltage comparator adapted to compare the output of the second rectifier and the output of the detector and generate an output proportional to a difference between the second rectifier output and the detector output, thereby controlling the control circuit and regulating the DC voltage to a constant level corresponding to the input AC voltage irrespective of variations in load current.
