The housing and the end cover are welded together to form a fusion zone. The end cover is provided with a first stress-relieving groove on an inner surface. The first stress-relieving groove is configured to recess from the inner surface of the end cover in a direction leaving the inside of the battery cell, so as to relieve stress produced by welding of the housing and the end cover. The technical solutions provided in the embodiments of this application can enhance safety performance of batteries.

    Abstract: A pressure relief mechanism is provided. The pressure relief mechanism is disposed on a housing plate of a battery cell, and including: a connecting portion, located in a peripheral region of the pressure relief mechanism, and configured to connect to the housing plate; a first part, where one end of the first part is connected to the connecting portion, and the other end of the first part extends obliquely toward an interior of the battery cell; a fragile portion, connected to the extending end of the first part; and a second part, taking a shape that protrudes toward the interior of the battery cell. An outer edge region of the second part is connected to the fragile portion. When an internal temperature or gas pressure of the battery cell is less than a preset value, the fragile portion is squeezed and pressed by the first part and/or the second part.

The sealing assembly comprises: a sealing sleeve provided in the through hole and having a cavity and an opening that is in communication with the cavity; an elastic sleeve tube provided in the cavity and having a first mounting hole that extends in an axial direction of the through hole; and a central rod, which is provided in the first mounting hole and is in threaded connection with the elastic sleeve tube to enable the elastic sleeve tube to expand in a radial direction of the through hole to press the sealing sleeve and form, on an outer wall of the elastic sleeve tube, a raised portion that rivets the sealing sleeve to the through hole. The sealing assembly for sealing the through hole, and the method and device for preparing the battery cell according to the embodiments of the present application can improve the sealing performance on the through hole of the battery cell.

In the battery column according to the embodiments of this application, even if no insulating film is provided on the second metal case of the second battery cell, and the second metal case is exposed in the housing, the battery cells can still be insulated from each other, and space inside the housing can be saved, thereby improving energy density of the battery column.
