  • Publication number: 20090046588
Abstract: A corrected channel estimating apparatus is disclosed, which is capable of removing side-lobe components mutually leaking into transmission paths from channel estimates to increase the accuracy. A channel estimation unit calculates channel estimates for a plurality of transmission paths due to a signal that arrives through multipath. A channel estimate correction unit removes side-lobe components mutually leaking into the transmission paths from the channel estimates calculated by the channel estimation unit to correct the channel estimates. In this way, the corrected channel estimating apparatus estimates transmission paths of a multipath.

  • Publication number: 20090022253
Abstract: Provided are a channel estimation device and an equalization device capable of achieving high channel estimation accuracy with less amount of calculation processing. The equalization device includes: a channel estimation section including a ZF calculation/clipping processing section and correlation processing section; a weight calculation section; and an equalization filter. • Patent number: 7466969
Abstract: A MIMO receiver, a MIMO reception method and a wireless communication system capable of accurate MMSE control even when each transmit antenna uses a different chip power ratio in MIMO filter reception. A correction coefficient calculator receives as input the chip power ratio of each transmit antenna, and estimates such pilot power that renders the chip power ratio of each transmit antenna equal to that of a reference transmit antenna. Thereby, the correction coefficient calculator calculates a correction coefficient ?m to correct the actual pilot power of each transmit antenna. A weight calculator receives as input transmission channel impulse responses transferred into frequency domain by FFT sections, chip noise power estimated by a chip noise estimation section, and the correction coefficient ?m obtained by the correction coefficient calculator. The weight calculator calculates filter weights according to the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion.

  • Publication number: 20080192682
Abstract: A MIMO wireless communication system capable of relaxing a reduction in a transmission rate on a cell end far from a base station and ensuring a high transmission rate for a mobile station, irrespectively of a distance from the base station is provided. In a state 1 in which a mobile station 21 is away from a first base station 11, a distance between the first base station and the mobile station is short, a propagation line state is good, and high speed transmission is possible. Therefore, the mobile station checks a propagation line quality and instructs only the first base station to transmit data to the mobile station. When the mobile station moves to a state 2, a transmission line state between the mobile station and the first base station is worse but the mobile station is communicable with a second base station along with a reduction in a possible transmission data rate.

  • Publication number: 20080152028
Abstract: N sub-carriers are grouped in units of predetermined quantities in order beginning with the one exhibiting the highest communication channel quality to generate an optimal group pattern on the reception side. Then, communication channel information is calculated for each of sub-carrier groups in the optimal group pattern or a quasi-optimal group pattern which is assumed to be closest to the optimal group pattern among a plurality of previously set group pattern candidates. Communication channel information is designated as modified communication channel information. Grouping information indicative of the optimal group pattern or quasi-optimal group pattern is combined with modified communication channel information to generate feedback information. On the transmission side, sub-carriers are grouped based on reproduced feedback information reproduced from the feedback information.

  • Patent number: 7363057
Abstract: A mobile communication system capable of improving the system throughput. A base station (1) divides one cell into three sectors. A common pilot channel is transmitted to a plurality of mobile stations in the sectors by beams (101-103) whose directivity is controlled by an adaptive antenna for each of the sectors. On the other hand, when a mobile station (2) communicates data with the base station (1), the base station transmits a data channel and an individual control channel to the mobile station (2) by using a beam (201) whose directivity is controlled individually. The mobile station (2) switches between the common pilot channel and the individual control channel from the base station (1) for estimating the communication path quality.

  • Publication number: 20080049668
Abstract: A reference signal of a user equipment to which a resource (LB#1) is allocated for a L1/L2 control signal, is allocated a resource (SB#1) that is closer on the time axis to the resource (LB#1), which the L1/L2 control signal is allocated, within the same frequency band as the L1/L2 control signal. A reference signal for CQI estimation, independent of a data signal and a L1/L2 control signal, is allocated a resource with which at least one of a reference signal for demodulation of a data signal and a reference signal for demodulation of a L1/L2 control signal is not transmitted at the same timing within the transmission band. The types of bandwidths of the reference signals multiplexed in a same short block within a same band are reduced, whereby restrictions as to the number of reference signal sequences that can be secured are diminished.

  • Patent number: 7215699
Abstract: To provide a path timing detection method for an adaptive array antenna system realizing improved path timing detection characteristics and high-quality demodulation results by simple processing. A sliding correlator despreads signals from antennas over a plurality of chip timings. A multibeam former forms a plurality of directional beams from outputs of the sliding correlator. A per-beam delay profile generation means generates a delay profile averaged in a certain cycle with respect to each beam by using the signal sequences of the beams from the multibeam former. A path timing detection means detects path timings one after another from the generated delay profiles with respect to the respective beams by using a minimum selection timing interval centered on a chip timing already selected as a path timing and a minimum selection beam interval centered on the beam having the chip timing already selected.

Abstract: A multiuser interference elimination apparatus in which, even in the second and other subsequent stages, adaptive updating of antenna weights can be performed and antenna weights can be generated with accuracy by using interference-canceled received signals. A multiplier performs gain correction by multiplying a symbol replica transmitted from the preceding stage by a coefficient [1?(1??)m?1], and an antenna signal regeneration section converts the gain-corrected symbol replica into antenna signals. Adders add the antenna signals converted by the antenna signal regeneration section to outputs from despread devices and output the addition results to an antenna weight adaptive updating section. The antenna weight adaptive updating section performs adaptive updating of antenna weights by using the addition results.

Abstract: In soft hand over in a code division multi access mobile radio communication system, interference in a down link caused by transmission from a plurality of base stations for one mobile station, can be restricted. Control of transmission power is performed according to command from the mobile station only in the base station serving as a primary base station which has minimum propagation loss with the mobile station during soft hand over, and the base stations other than the primary base station perform transmission with restricting output. In comparison with the transmission power control performed by the conventional plural base station transmission, interference for the peripheral mobile station can be reduced to achieve higher down link capacity.
