Abstract: An outer casing material for a battery 4 is provided, wherein an outer layer 11, a metal foil layer 10 and an inner layer 8 are laminated via an adhesive layer 5; the inner layer 8 comprises a sealant layer 8b and a base material layer 8a; the sealant layer 8b is made from a propylene-ethylene random copolymer wherein a melt flow rate at 230° C. thereof is in a range of 3 to 30 g/10 minutes; the base material layer 8a is made of a resin composition wherein a melt flow rate at 230° C. thereof is in a range of 0.1 to 15 g/10 minutes, xylene-soluble component Xs thereof satisfies the predetermined conditions, and the resin composition comprises 50 to 80% by mass of a propylene component (A) and 50 to 20% by mass of a copolymer component (B) which is an elastomer of a copolymer of propylene and ethylene and/or ?-olefin having 4 to 12 carbons and includes 50 to 85% by mass of a polymerization unit originated from propylene.

Abstract: A terminal lead 1 includes an inner end portion 1a to be arranged inwardly of an exterior casing 9 which accommodates an electrochemistry element 6, an outer end portion 1b to be arranged outwardly of the exterior casing 9, and a plate-shaped metallic substrate 2 as a base material. An insulating resin film 4 is arranged at a portion of the terminal lead 1 corresponding to a seal portion 9x of the exterior casing 9. In this terminal lead 1, a surface coating layer 3 is formed on both surfaces 2p and 2p of the metallic substrate 2 in a thickness direction thereof. A coated amount of both widthwise end portions 3a and 3a of the surface coating layer 3 formed on both surfaces 2p and 2p of the metallic substrate 2 in the thickness direction is less than that a widthwise intermediate portion 3b thereof.

Abstract: A battery exterior body which can be easily manufactured without additional process by heat-sealing internal layers of battery exterior materials, and has a high degree of safety with respect to gas generated in the inside of the exterior body, a method of manufacturing the battery exterior body, and a lithium secondary battery are provided. The battery exterior body is a battery exterior body 2 which is formed by heat-sealing internal layers 8 of battery exterior materials 4 formed by laminating an external layer 11 including a heat-resistant resin film, a metal foil layer 10, and the internal layer 8 in this order, and has a sealing strength between the heat-sealed internal layers 8 of 20 N/15 mm of width to 50 N/15 mm of width.
