  • Patent number: 9051001
Abstract: An apparatus for power steering of a vehicle, comprises: a worm gear arrangement including a worm shaft and a worm wheel engaged with the worm shaft; a bearing to support the worm shaft rotatably; a gear housing structure enclosing the worm gear arrangement, and defining a holder receiving portion; and a holder member arranged to hold the bearing, and fit movably radially in the holder receiving portion. A biasing mechanism urges the holder member or the bearing in a nearing direction toward the worm wheel. A buffer member is arranged to be compressed by the holder member when the holder member is moved in the nearing direction to buffer collision of the holder member in the holder receiving portion. The buffer member is set to have an elastic force smaller than the biasing elastic force of the biasing mechanism.

  • Patent number: 8776942
Abstract: An electric power steering device includes a rack bar; a pinion shaft meshing with the rack bar; a worm wheel provided on the pinion shaft; a worm shaft meshing with the worm wheel; an electric motor provided on the worm shaft; a first housing accommodating at least a part of the rack bar and the pinion shaft and includes a first bolt boss formed with a through-hole; a second housing; and a bolt. The second housing includes a worm-wheel accommodating portion accommodating the worm wheel, and a second bolt boss provided to have a shorter distance to the first housing than that of the worm-wheel accommodating portion, and formed with a female-threaded portion. The second bolt boss is opposed to the first bolt boss to cause the female-threaded portion to be continuous with the through-hole of the first bolt boss. The bolt fastens the first housing to the second housing.

  • Patent number: 6767434
Abstract: An apparatus for treating harmful substances contained in a waste gas discharged from waste burning pants includes an insulating honeycomb structural body made of ceramics containing a photocatalytic material, a number of through holes formed in the honeycomb structural body in parallel with each other, first and second mesh electrodes arranged on respective end surfaces of the honeycomb structural body, and a pulse supply source connected across the first and second mesh electrodes. A waste gas flows through the through holes formed in the honeycomb structural body, while pulse corona discharge plasma is uniformly generated along the through holes. Harmful substances contained in the waste gas are decomposed by the high energy electrons and radicals generated by the discharge plasma, and the photocatalytic material is excited by ultraviolet radiation emitted from the discharge plasma to produce active oxygen which decomposes and/or oxidizes the harmful substances.

  • Patent number: 5241904
Abstract: A dot line printer for carrying out printing on a print paper while shuttling a hammer bank back and forth in a direction to traverse the print paper. To lower the peak level of the current flowed in an electromagnetic coil provided in association with a print hammer and to reduce an electric power consumption, a predetermined number of print hammers are divided, for example, into four groups A, B, C and D. The print hammers belonging to group A are arranged at a constant interval wherein three print hammers belonging to groups B, C and D are interposed between adjacent two print hammers of group A and are disposed in positions displaced toward the leftside group A hammer from their home positions defined by equally spaced apart positions between the adjacent two print hammers of group A. Currents are adapted to flow in the coils of the print hammers belonging to different groups, e.g.

  • Patent number: 5195216
Abstract: A hooking clasp for a cord-like member is provided which can simply and securely bind objects and furthermore, can be used repeatedly. The hooking clasp of the invention has a structure in which two elastic flat plates are fixed at their center portions, and a cord-like member such as a cord or rope is inserted into a gap formed between the flat plates and is hooked and wound on the fixed center portion for being pinched by the flat plates. An alternative hooking clasp of the invention has a structure in which an annular ring-shaped holding groove having almost the same width as a diameter of the cord-like member is engraved on a periphery of a cylindrical body and the cord-like member is hooked and wound for securement on the holding groove.

  • Patent number: 5193920
Abstract: A dot line printer with a paper feed time controlling capability includes a hammer bank accommodating a plurality of print hammers, a shuttle mechanism for shuttling the hammer bank back and forth along a print line, and a sheet feeding mechanism for feeding a sheet of paper in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the hammer bank shuttles. When a first predetermined amount of a line space feeding is to be carried out after completion of one line printing, a hammer bank reversing time is prolonged. When more than the first predetermined amount of the line space feeding but less than a second predetermined amount of line space feeding is to be carried out, it is carried out during an extended period of time including both the hammer bank reversing time and the subsequent hammer bank scanning time without prolonging the hammer bank reversing time.

  • Patent number: 5156474
Abstract: In a shuttle dot line printer including a hammer bank shuttling back and forth at a given speed in a direction to transverse a sheet of print paper while turning around at two opposite ends, and an endless ink ribbon uni-directionally moving through a space between the hammer bank and the sheet of print paper, the ink density of the characters printed when the hammer bank is moving in the direction opposite to the ink ribbon is lowered. To prevent such occurrence, the ink ribbon is moved at a low speed lower than a regular speed when the moving direction of the hammer bank is opposite to that of the ink ribbon. On the other hand, when the moving direction of the hammer bank is same as that of the ink ribbon, the ink ribbon is moved at the regular speed after a predetermined period of time has been expired when the hammer bank turns around at one end and starts moving in the same direction as the ink ribbon.
