  • Patent number: 7392675
Abstract: A slot mechanism having an accommodation space into which an insertion object is inserted through a slot. The slot mechanism includes a shutter located in the accommodation space. The shutter is movable along an insertion direction of the insertion object. When the insertion object is inserted into the accommodation space, the shutter is pressed by the insertion object and moved toward the back of the accommodation space. When the insertion object is removed from the accommodation space, the shutter is moved toward the slot to close the slot. The shutter has a guiding portion that stabilizes the attitude of the insertion object when the insertion object is pressed against the shutter.

  • Patent number: 7021093
Abstract: An antitheft system for a vehicle has an electrically-driven steering lock device. In the lock device, due to a lock arm, which is formed integrally with a helical gear, being driven to rotate by a motor, a lock stopper and a lock bar are moved toward a steering shaft and are set in a locked state. Usually, locking is released by the lock stopper and the lock bar being moved toward a side opposite the steering shaft due to elastic urging force of a spring. In a case in which the lock bar catches on an engagement groove and the lock stopper cannot be moved only by the urging force of the spring, a cam, which is rotated integrally with the helical gear, pushes the lock stopper upward such that locking is released.

  • Patent number: 6948469
Abstract: An engine switch for selectively starting and stopping an engine and an LED for irradiating the engine switch are located in a passenger compartment of a vehicle. When a vehicular lighting device, such as a headlight, is switched from an on state to an off state, the LED is lighted up. Therefore, even if the passenger compartment is dark, the position of the engine switch is easily found.

  • Patent number: 6703721
Abstract: A vehicle immobilizer locks the transmission shift lever in the park position. A key has an identification code and a transmitter. When the key is inserted into a key cylinder and used to rotate the key cylinder to start the vehicle, a code detector reads the key code. The key code is then compared to a prestored key code. If the key codes match, a first detection signal is generated. A brake detector detects when the brake pedal has been depressed and generates a second detection signal. When both the first and second detection signals are generated, the shift lever is unlocked and an engine ECU is enabled so that the engine may be started and the transmission may be engaged.

  • Patent number: 6508090
Abstract: A shift lever device in which, by the integration with a key cylinder, a reduction in the use of space, simplification, cost reduction and weight lightening can be achieved. The shift lever device is such that the lever supported by a lock body that houses the key cylinder, and a first cam and second cam are provided integrally with the key cylinder. A shift lock pin and starter lock pin are provided in the lock body, and the first insertion hole, in which the shift lock pin is inserted by the first cam, and a second insertion hole and third insertion hole in which a starter lock pin is inserted by the second cam, are provided in a detent plate fixed in the shift lever. As a result, the shift lever device is integrated with the key cylinder and, for this reason, a reduction in the space for the mounting thereof, and moreover, as the connector components with the vehicle become unnecessary, a simplification, cost reduction and weight lightening, can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 6474123
Abstract: An electronic key device has a housing, a substrate unit, a battery holder, a key passage, and a key. A lock pin provided on the battery holder is biased toward the key by a spring. A distal end of the pin enter the key passage for retaining or locking the key. When the key is not being used, the key is covered by the pin. When the key is being used, the pin advances into a locking aperture of the key to lock the key. The pin locks the battery holder to the housing. The use of one pin for locking the key and the battery against the housing enables miniaturization of the device.

  • Patent number: 6164101
Abstract: A container made from a hard synthetic resin is provided on a key body (12). A container half (26) and the other container half (27) of the container (16) are attached to a key body (12) and a transmitting element (18) is secured to the container halves (26) and (27) in a sealed condition. A soft resin outer skin is molded on the outer surfaces of the key body (12) and the resin container (16). Heat and pressure during the molding of the resin outer skin are received by the resin container (16) so that the transmitting element 18 therein is protected therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6050118
Abstract: A key body (14) is inserted into a recess (16) to be held on a card key support (12). When a spare key (10) is used, the key body (14) is removed from the recess (16) and inserted into the recess (26). Accordingly, a lock insertion portion (14B) protrudes from the card key support (12) for manipulation of the key. A transmitter element (18) is mounted to the card key support (12) near a base portion (14A) of the key body (14) which is mounted to the recess (26) so that an ID signal is transmitted from the transmitter element (18) in the direction of the key cylinder in the same manner as in an original key. An operating condition of an engine is thereby maintained.

  • Patent number: 5577409
Abstract: When a key other than a regular key or the like is inserted to forcibly rotate a key rotor, a coupling member is moved in a direction indicated by an arrow by an uncoupling mechanism. This movement uncouples a rear rotor from the coupling member. As a result, the key rotor and a sleeve only rotate idly, and the rear rotor and a lock lever are not rotated. Hence, a cylinder lock is not unlocked, and no damaging force is never applied to components of the cylinder lock such as tumblers.

  • Patent number: 5309744
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a shift locking apparatus for blocking a shifting movement unless a special operation is conducted such as the depression of a foot brake by an operator, when a shift lever of an automatic transmission is moved from a specified shift position of a parking "P" and the like to another shift position, wherein when releasing of the shift lock is conducted by an electrically operated actuator such as a solenoid, the shift lock can be released by use of a key for a vehicle even in a condition where the electrically operated actuator is not used. The operation of a key cylinder by use of the key of the vehicle by the operator causes the shift lock to be released, ensuring that the operator can move the shift lever to any other shift position, thereby permitting the vehicle to be moved even if there is some trouble such as electrical trouble.

  • Patent number: 5127245
Abstract: An automatic shift lever locking device is capable of locking the shift of an automatic transmission in a specific non-driving shift position against movement from this position unless a predetermined condition is met. The device has a detent pin provided on the shift lever and movable in response to pressing of a push button on the shift lever, a movable member engageable with the detent pin, and a lock member engageable with the movable member so as to prevent the detent pin from moving out of a lock position thereby to maintain the shift lever locked in the non-driving position. Therefore, when the shift lever is not locked, the manual force exerted by the driver on the push button is not transmitted to the lock members and other parts mechanically or electrically connected to the lock member.

  • Patent number: 5080208
Abstract: A shift lever apparatus for an automatic transmission of a vehicle includes shift positions of which are arranged in the order of a parking range, a reverse range, a neutral range, and a drive range and are selectable in a single shift range by a swinging operation of the shift lever. The apparatus is provided with a control member which is adapted to control the movement of a moving plate caused by the pressing of a detent pin. Control is effected such that even if a pushbutton is pressed, a shifting operation from the parking range to another range is prohibited when the parking range is selected as the shift position and a foot brake of the vehicle is not pressed with the foot. Furthermore, even if the pushbutton is pressed, a shifting operation from the neutral range toward the reverse range is prohibited when a speed of the vehicle is above a predetermined value and a shifting operation is effected to the neutral range.

  • Patent number: 5025901
Abstract: A shift lever for shifting an automatic transmission is axially supported by a base plate which is provided with a locking device to enable shift operation of the shift lever when the driver depresses the brake pedal. A cover is mounted to the base plate and is provided with a lock cancellation push button to forcedly cancel the locking apparatus at times when the vehicle is being repaired or the like. The button on the cover and the locking device are connected by a flexible wire and so operative force of the pushbutton can be definitely transmitted to the locking device to cancel the lock even if the positions for assembling the cover to the base plate are not always the same.
