  • Patent number: 6330216
Abstract: Provision of a recording medium transfer apparatus, which uses a one-direction motor as a drive source and is simple in construction and inexpensive. The apparatus comprises a rotation member driven for rotation by the one-direction motor, an idler gear, and transfer means. The rotation member has a partial gear and a push member. The partial gear is held in mesh with the idler gear only during rotation of the rotation member for a predetermined angle. The transfer means has a gear portion in mesh with the idler gear and a contact portion. The transfer means is caused, with the contact portion thereof pushed by the push member, to undergo rocking movement in one direction and, after separation of the push member from the contact portion, the transfer means is rocked in the other direction with the partial gear in mesh with the idler gear. The recording medium is thus reciprocally transferred by the transfer means with reciprocal rocking movement thereof caused during one rotation of the rotation member.

  • Patent number: 6169719
Abstract: In a car-mounted disc/tape player, in which a disc player and a tape player are assembled in a substantially rectangular cabinet capable of being accommodated in a predetermined accommodation space in a car, it is sought to reduce the player size so as to be above to conform to the DIN Standard. A disc insertion slot is disposed above and leftwardly of a cassette insertion slot. A disc drive motor is disposed forwardly of a tape drive motor. The bottom surface of the disc drive motor is set to be at a level below the top surface of the tape drive motor. A zone of movement of a pick-up is defined in a space between the disc drive motor and the left front corner of the cabinet.

  • Patent number: 6141310
Abstract: The invention relates to a disc playing apparatus, in which a disc inserted through a disc inserting slot is held on a turntable for playing back data with an optical pick-up, and released from the turntable and forced back to the outside of the disc inserting slot. The disc playing apparatus can be simple in construction, small in size, and inexpensive in the cost of manufacture. A disc holder for transferring the disc takes hold of the outer edge of the disc. The operations of the disc holder and a clamping mechanism are controlled by a timing control mechanism, which is driven by a single motor. The timing control mechanism has a partial gear. The timings of operation of various parts are controlled by selectively using a with-teeth portion and a without-teeth portion of a partial gear. The timing control mechanism is reversibly operable in dependence on the direction of motor rotation. Various parts of the apparatus are reversibly operable when loading and unloading the disc.

  • Patent number: 5005745
Abstract: An apparatus for preventing tape from being rolled on a capstan or pinch roller including a pinch roller having a ratchet wheel rotated integrally with the pinch roller, a tape contacting plate having a pawl capable of engaging the ratchet wheel, and a resilient plate for providing a biasing force in response to tape tension is provided. The pinch roller is usable to rotate when the tape becomes lose and is able to rotate when the tape becomes taut.

  • Patent number: 4437095
Abstract: A selective call receiver with display is disclosed. The receiver includes a decoder comprised of a reception controller in the form of a dedicated LSI circuit and a display controller in the form of a single chip CPU which, in combination, overcomes inherent weakness in each, namely the relatively large power consumption of a single chip CPU and the difficulty of reconfiguring a dedicated LSI circuit to perform different and/or additional functions.
