  • Patent number: 7080712
Abstract: An insulator dash (20) installed on the interior side surface side of a dash panel (10), comprising a single sound absorbing layer (21) formed of a fiber assembly or a laminated assembly having light and soft skin layers (22,23,26,27,28) laminated on the surface of sound absorbing layer (21), wherein, since the reflected noise reflected from the inner surface of an instrument panel (40) is taken again from the front surface side into the sound absorbing layer (21) for sound absorption in addition to the sound absorbing and shielding performance of the insulator dash (20), the sound absorbing performance in the instrument panel (40) can be increased, whereby the weight can be reduced and a rise of sound pressure in the instrument panel (40) can be abolishing a conventional sound shielding layer so as to increase a silentness in a cabin.

  • Patent number: 6685863
Abstract: In an automobile interior component which is upholstered in a side-panel of a vehicle and its manufacturing method, in order to suppress the generation of sharp edged fragments in a collision for improving safety for vehicle occupants, high-impact-resistant core members with a rubber base ingredient are placed in an impact area and an interference area to interfere with other parts of the interior component. This avoids sharp-edged fragments being generated in a collision because of ductile breakdown of the high-impact-resistant core members enabling increased shock absorbing function and the use of inexpensive surface skin members as well.

  • Patent number: 5925207
Abstract: An automotive interior component consisting of a resin core member having a required shape and a surface skin member for imparting a favorable surface property thereto in which a peripheral portion of the surface skin member is folded back and secured onto a reverse surface of a resin core member in a quick and reliable manner without using any bonding agent, and a device and method for manufacturing the same. By blowing hot air produced from an annular hot air supply pipe arranged along a reverse surface of the peripheral portion of the resin core member and a reverse surface of the folded back portion of the surface skin member which is combined with the resin core member as a half-finished assembly, the folded back portion of the surface skin member is thermally welded and secured to the reverse surface of the resin core member.

  • Patent number: 5389315
Abstract: In a method and device for mold press forming involving distribution of molten resin within a mold including a plurality of valve gates, deformation of the product and generation of excessive burrs and voids are prevented by accurately distributing a prescribed amount of resin material to each valve gate by detecting the amount of molten resin supplied from an injection unit and controlling the opening timing and period of each valve gate. The amount of molten resin supplied from the injection unit can be conveniently evaluated by detecting the displacement of an in-line screw used in the injection unit. By providing a metering arrangement for each of the valve gates, the molten resin can be even more accurately distributed to each of the valve gates.
