  • Patent number: 6709751
Abstract: A layer comprising a stain resistant agent is formed on a treated surface of a ceramic product used with water so that a stain resistant treatment is applied to the treated surface. The stain resistant agent includes a silicon-containing functional group combining with the hydroxyl group present on the treated surface by dehydration or dehydrogenation. Consequently, a high stain resistant effect can be achieved from the ceramic product.

  • Patent number: 4719689
Abstract: In making a peripheral joint between first and second metal panels such as, e.g., outer and inner panels of an automobile door by hemming the first panel after application of a rust preventive sealant, the sealant is used in a quantity in excess of just sufficiency for completely filling in gaps in the joint to ensure that the excess portion of the sealant is pressed out of the joint by the end of the hemming operation, and the press die member used in the hemming working is formed with a groove in its hemming surface such that the sealant pressed out of the joint is confined within a space defined by the groove and shaped in conformance with the shape of the groove so as to serve as an external seal which closely covers the edge of the hemmed marginal part of the first panel.

  • Patent number: 4365002
Abstract: A coated plastic film possessing good printability slip properties, oxygen and moisture barrier properties and transparency which comprises applying to a plastic film a coating solution of a thermoplastic resin as base resin in which a synthetic resin of a network structure having a softening temperature above 100.degree. C. and being in the form of a fine powder are added, and drying thereafter.

  • Patent number: 4122150
Abstract: A process for eliminating sulphur oxides from combustion exhaust gases, comprising the steps of dividing the combustion exhaust gases into a first stream and a second stream, and passing the first stream through a first activated carbon bed which was previously washed with water, thereby drying the activated carbon, cooling the first stream, and removing a substantial portion of sulphur oxides from the first stream by adsorption. The treated first stream is mixed with the second stream and together passed through a second activated carbon bed which was previously dried, thereby removing sulphur oxides by dry adsorption. A third activated carbon bed which was previously used in the dry adsorption step is washed with water, removing the previously adsorbed sulphur oxides therefrom. Each of the first, second and third activated carbon beds are cyclically treated by the drying, dry adsorption and washing steps.
