  • Patent number: 10827039
Abstract: In an embodiment, a method includes receiving, from a data source, time-series data of a time-series data stream produced by the data source. The method further includes identifying a target compression algorithm for the time-series data, wherein the target compression algorithm is linked to the data source in memory pursuant to a dynamically-variable assignment. The method also includes compressing the time-series data using the target compression algorithm and transmitting the compressed time-series data to a destination. Furthermore the method includes periodically optimizing the dynamically-variable assignment in real-time as the time-series data is received.

  • Patent number: 9940680
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for providing near-real-time actionable insights associated with user interactions within a social media environment. A first and second set of social media data, respectively associated with a first and second set of social media interactions, are processed to generate a first and second set of Social Network Advocacy Pulse (SNAP) data in near-real-time. The resulting first and second sets of SNAP data are then processed to generate a first and second set of actionable insight data, which respectively indicate a near-real-time measurement of sentiment and advocacy related to a predetermined business aspect. The first and second sets of social pricing index data are then processed to generate a set of actionable insight differential data, which indicates a corresponding improvement or decline in sentiment or advocacy related to the business aspect.

  • Patent number: 9904707
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a request to execute a database statement in satisfaction of a time constraint. The method further includes determining a pattern of the database statement. Additionally, the method includes comparing the pattern to pattern metadata associated with cached samples of the distributed database. Also, the method includes, responsive to a determination that the comparing has resulted in one or more matches, selecting a target sample and causing the database statement to be executed on the target sample. The method further includes, responsive to a determination that the target sample resolves the database statement in satisfaction of the time constraint, returning a resulting dataset to a requestor. Moreover, the method includes, responsive to a determination that the target sample does not resolve the database statement in satisfaction of the time constraint, causing a new real-time sampling of the distributed database to be executed.

  • Patent number: 9640177
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium for performing ambiguous utterances identification operations by extrapolating statements of the utterance using machine learning based linguistic analysis. More specifically, in certain embodiments, the ambiguous utterances identification operations are performed by generating an ambiguous utterance repository that is indexed by and contains individuals, regions, tweets, blogs, and latest trends. This ambiguous utterance repository is then linked to a lexicon engine that stores linguistic semantics for particular demographics. The ambiguous utterances identification operations also can capture the latest trends in ambiguous utterances occurring happening in certain demographics.

The resulting first and second sets of SNA data are then processed to generate a first and second set of SNA Pulse (SNAP) metric data, which respectively indicate a near-real-time measurement of sentiment and advocacy for a given aspect of an organization. The first and second sets of SNAP metric data are then processed to generate a set of SNAP metrics differential data, which indicates a corresponding improvement or decline in sentiment or advocacy.

  • Publication number: 20160335542
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for performing distributed analytics using a metadata encoded decision engine. More specifically, the operation of performing distributed analytics combines metadata encoding of input expectations for models with a multi-tier decision engine. In certain embodiments, the multi-tier decision engine provides arbitrary responses to input failures, including data dropping, routing to additional models, signaling, data conditioning, and even updating of the model parameters themselves. The combination of the processing model, the data input validation, and the decision engine improves the operation of a distributed data processing environment which is focused on predictive and reactive analysis of edge processing data.
