Publication number: 20240114826Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically altering a configuration of a cutterbar of a header in response actuation of a gauge wheel of the header may include sensing a position of a gauge wheel with a sensor. For example, the sensor senses at least one of extension and retraction of the gauge wheel, and, in response, the sensor causes the cutterbar to alter a configuration thereof. In some instances, the sensor includes a switch that forms one of a closed electrical circuit or an open electrical circuit in response to actuation of the gauge wheel. In response, at least one actuator is actuated to move the cutterbar into one of the flexible configuration and the rigid configuration.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2022Publication date: April 11, 2024Inventors: SHREYAS P. MODAK, ALEX BRIMEYER, SHALLY JARQUIN CADENA

Publication number: 20230076930Abstract: Systems and methods for automated lockout systems for moving a cutterbar between a rigid configuration and a flexible configuration in response to actuation of one or more gauge wheels. In some implementations, a cutterbar is movable into a rigid configuration in response to extension of a gauge wheel. In some implementations, the cutterbar is movable into a flexible configuration in response to retraction of a gauge wheel. In some implementations, movement of a cutterbar into a rigid configuration occurs simultaneously with extension of a gauge wheel. In some implementations, movement of the cutterbar into a flexible configuration occurs simultaneously with retraction of a gauge wheel. In some implementations, movement of a gauge wheel and a cutter bar is performed in response to fluidic pressure.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2021Publication date: March 9, 2023Inventors: SHREYAS P. MODAK, ALEX A. BRIMEYER, SHALLY JARQUIN CADENA

Publication number: 20220151153Abstract: A pickup reel assembly that includes a hub and multiple bat assemblies where each bat assembly rotates through a functional area where it moves crop material into a harvester, and a non-functional area where it does not move crop material into the harvester. Each bat assembly rotates at a first speed through the functional area and at a second speed through the non-functional area, where the second speed is greater than the first speed. A nominal speed shaft can rotate at the first speed, and an increased speed shaft can rotate at the second speed. Cogs can couple the bat assembly to the increased speed shaft when it is in the non-functional area. The cogs can also couple the bat assembly to the nominal speed shaft when it is in the functional area.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 8, 2021Publication date: May 19, 2022Inventors: Shreyas P. Modak, Aditya Patil, Bryan R. Yanke, Cristiano Engelmann, Sam West, Richard A. Snell, JR., Jesus Carlos Tinoco
