The first graphical user interface includes a plurality of selectable alternative advert (AA) query items, a first graphical user interface element for accepting an offer to watch advert-free content, and a second graphical user interface element for rejecting the offer to watch advert-free content. In response to detecting, utilizing the input device, a selection of at least one AA query item among the selectable AA query items and a selection of the first graphical user interface element by the viewer, the display displays a video content without adverts.

In response to the request, it is determined whether the user has advert-free rights to view and interact with the digital content. In response to determining that the user does not have the advert-free rights to view and interact with the digital content, the user is provided with an alternative advert (AA) query that includes AA query items. The AA query items include at least one preselected AA query item, where the preselected AA query item is enabled or not enabled to be unselected by the user. In response to determining that an AA query response to the AA query was received from the user within a predefined time period, the requested digital content is provided to a user device of the user without adverts.

In response to the request, it is determined whether the viewer has advert-free rights to watch the video content. In response to determining that the viewer does not have the advert-free rights to watch the video content, an alternative advert (AA) query is prepared based on query rules, and the AA query is presented to the viewer. An AA query response to the AA query is received from the viewer. In response to determining that the AA query response is a first response, one or more AA offers are determined and the AA offers are sent to the viewer. The requested video content is streamed to a viewer device of the viewer without adverts.

Abstract: Methods and systems of providing alternative advert (AA) query items for an AA system are disclosed. A request is received to generate an AA query. In response to the request, it is determined whether a percentage of scoreable AA query items for which a viewer has a known or derived preference exceeds a threshold value. Each scoreable AA query item has an assigned equity score and an assigned viewer-item affinity score. In response to determining that the percentage of scoreable AA query items exceeds the threshold value, one or more first AA query types are determined to create for the viewer. The requested AA query is sent. A response to the sent AA query is received. Equity scores and viewer-item affinity scores of total scoreable AA query items are updated based on the response.
