  • Patent number: 9909589
Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for a system for a rotary machine, such as a compressor or turbocharger. In one example, the rotary machine includes a volute assembly and a bearing housing. The volute assembly has a first connector that is configured to interlock with a second connector of the bearing housing. The first and second connectors are configured to engage to a greater extent through relative rotation between the volute assembly and the bearing housing.

  • Patent number: 7556301
Abstract: A dynamically deconstructable armrest for an automotive vehicle includes a number of walls extending from a mounting base so as to define a cavity within which arm contact member is seated. Compressive force directed laterally against at least one of the side walls and having a magnitude in excess for a predetermined threshold value will cause at least a portion of the arm contact member to become expelled from the cavity, so as to lessen the compressive strength of the armrest.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 28, 2006
Date of Patent: July 7, 2009
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
    Inventors: Shrinivas Govind, Nagaraj Mariyappa
  • Patent number: 7467074
Abstract: A system and method for assembling a mesh model for engineering analysis by a user is provided. The system includes a user computer system, a remotely located computer system and a data storage means. The method includes the steps of selecting a plurality of component parts having a best practice mesh model format and selecting a predetermined property for each of the selected component parts, wherein the predetermined property is selected from a best practice library stored on the data storage means. The method also includes the steps of determining if the mesh model for each of the selected component parts meets a predetermined mesh quality condition using a best practice mesh quality checking software program.
