  • Patent number: 7591890
Abstract: A photocurable pigment type inkjet ink composition including 5 to 95 wt % of water; 0.5 to 20 wt % of a pigment; 1 to 70 wt % of a photocurable component; and 0.0001 to 30 wt % of a reactive surfactant. The reactive surfactant can serve as a pigment dispersant for dispersing pigment particles or as an emulsifier for emulsifying the photocurable component.

  • Publication number: 20040251329
Abstract: A grinding process for forming a slurry of nanoparticles, consists of the following steps: forming a mixture by mixing a matrix, a dispersant and dispersing media together; adding a pre-treated grinding-media into the mixture; wherein the grinding-media are glass beads with an average particle diameter of less than 100 □m; milling or grinding the mixture; and separating the grinding-media from the mixture to get a slurry of nanoparticles. A pigment dispersion produced from the grinding process illustrated above is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20040167230
Abstract: A method for preparing ultra-fine dispersion solutions is disclosed. First, at least one dispersant is dissolved in a liquid carrier, to which a matrix is added to form a mixture, wherein the difference between the mean HLB value of the dispersant and the HLB value of the matrix is less than or equal to 3, the weight percentage of the matrix ranges from 0.1 wt % to 70 wt % of the mixture, and the weight percentage of the dispersant ranges from 0.1 wt % to 30 wt % of the mixture. Next, the mixture is comminuted with a milling media in milling equipment to form a dispersion solution, in which the particle size of the matrix becomes 10 &mgr;m to 100 &mgr;m, wherein the particle size of the milling media ranges from 100 &mgr;m to 400 &mgr;m. Finally, the milling media are separated from the dispersion solution.
