Patent number: 11941724Abstract: This application provides a model inference method and apparatus based on a graphics rendering pipeline, and a storage medium for model inference based on a graphics rendering pipeline. The method includes: obtaining an instruction stream in a render thread; extracting and saving texture data information from the instruction stream, where the texture data information includes texture data; and inputting the texture data information to a graphics processing unit (GPU) rendering pipeline, where the GPU rendering pipeline is used to perform GPU model-based inference on the texture data based on a GPU model to obtain an inference result of the texture data, and the GPU model is a model running in a GPU. This implements model inference on the texture data, and avoids conversion of the texture data into another data type, thereby reducing I/O memory overheads.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2022Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD.Inventors: Xindong Shi, Shu Wang, Jiangzheng Wu, Mingwei Lu

Publication number: 20240069912Abstract: A method for identifying hard-coded strings in source code is disclosed. In one embodiment, such a method parses source code and associated localization resource files to identify hard-coded strings and their associated context. The method provides a confidence score for each hard-coded string that indicates whether the hard-coded string is translatable or non-translatable. Based on the confidence score for each hard-coded string, the method transforms each hard-coded string into a single equivalence word. The method then prepares training data by tagging the hard-coded strings in the source code and associated localization resource files as one of translatable and non-translatable. The method then trains a parts-of-speech (POS) tagging model using the training data. At runtime, the method fetches potential hard-coded strings and tags each hard-coded string as one of translatable and non-translatable using the POS tagging model. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 27, 2022Publication date: February 29, 2024Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Jin Shi, Chih-Yuan Lin, Shu-Chih Chen, Pei-Yi Lin, Chao Yuan Huang

Publication number: 20230254730Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards a transport protocol for latency sensitive applications. The disclosed transport protocol is “semi-reliable” in that it allows for specification of an importance of data being transmitted, thereby allowing important data to be sent reliably, while other data can be dropped if necessary, e.g., under bad network conditions. A deadline can be specified for such other data, and if the other data cannot be sent prior to the deadline, it can be dropped. Furthermore, the disclosed transport protocol can allow for early discovery of network jitter. A client device can send regular acknowledgments which identify most recently received data packets as well as a number of “heartbeat transmissions” received at the client device. A server device can use the acknowledgments to discover and respond to jitter.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 18, 2023Publication date: August 10, 2023Inventors: Shu Shi, Rittwik Jana, Bo Han, Bo Chen

Patent number: 11600070Abstract: A system can obtain a labelled data set, including historic video data and labelled events. The system can divide the labelled data set into historic training/testing data sets. The system can determine, using the historic training data set, a plurality of different parameter configurations to be used by a video encoder to encode a video that includes a plurality of video frames. Each parameter configuration can include a group of pictures (“GOP”) size and a scenecut threshold. The system can calculate an accuracy of event detection (“ACC”) and a filtering rate (“FR”) for each parameter configuration. The system can calculate, for each parameter configuration of the plurality of different parameter configurations, a harmonic mean between the ACC and the FR. The system can then select a best parameter configuration of the plurality of different parameter configurations based upon the parameter configuration that has the highest harmonic mean.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2021Date of Patent: March 7, 2023Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Tarek Elgamal, Shu Shi, Varun Gupta, John Murray, Rittwik Jana
