  • Publication number: 20200244620
Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and software to enhance failover operations in a cloud computing environment. In one implementation, a method of operating a first service instance in a cloud computing environment includes obtaining a communication from a computing asset, wherein the communication comprises a first destination address. The method further provides replacing the first destination address with a second destination address in the communication, wherein the second destination address comprises a shared address for failover from a second service instance. After replacing the address, the method determines whether the communication is permitted based on the second destination address, and if permitted, processes the communication in accordance with a service executing on the service instance.

  • Publication number: 20200235914
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for generating and utilizing improved initialization vectors (IVs) when performing encryption and authentication in wireless communications. In some scenarios, a wireless communication device may generate one or more pseudorandom multi-bit values, e.g., using a respective plurality of key derivation functions (KDFs). A first portion of each value may be used as a respective key for encryption or authentication of traffic on the user plane or the control plane. A second portion of each value may be used as a nonce value in a respective IV for use with a respective key for encryption or authentication of traffic on the user plane or the control plane. In some scenarios, the nonce values may instead be generated as part of an additional pseudorandom value (e.g., by executing an additional KDF), from which all of the IVs may be drawn.

  • Publication number: 20200200140
Abstract: A calibration system and method for a spark ignition engine of a vehicle involve artificially weighting engine dynamometer data in high engine load regions and using it to generate training data for an artificial neutral network (ANN). A plurality of ANNs are trained using the training data and the plurality of ANNs are then filtered based on their maximum error to obtain a filtered set of trained ANNs. A statistical analysis is performed on each of the filtered set of trained ANNs including determining a set of statistical metrics for each of the filtered set of trained ANNs and then one of the filtered set of trained ANNs having a best combination of error at high engine loads and the set of statistical error metrics is then selected. Finally, an ANN calibration is generated using the selected one of the filtered set of trained ANNs.

  • Publication number: 20200073905
Abstract: Technologies for cross-device shared web resource caching include a client device (102a) and a shared cache device (102b). The client device (102a) scans for a shared cache device (102b) in local proximity to the client device (102a) and, in response to the scan, registers with the shared cache device (102b). After registering, the client device (102a) requests a cached web resource from the shared cache device (102b). The shared cache device (102b) determines whether a cached web resource that matches the request is installed in a shared cache (102b). The shared cache device (102b) may determine whether an origin of the request matches the origin of the cached web resource. If installed, the shared cache device (102b) sends a found response and the cached web resource to the client device (102a). If not installed, the shared cache device (102b) sends a not-found response and the client device (102a) may request the web resource from a remote web server. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20200021993
Abstract: Techniques for identity-based message integrity protection and verification between a user equipment (UE) and a wireless network entity, include use of signatures derived from identity-based keys. To protect against attacks from rogue network entities before activation of a security context with a network entity, the UE verifies integrity of messages by checking a signature using an identity-based public key PKID derived by the UE based on (i) an identity value (ID) of the network entity and (ii) a separate public key PKPKG of a private key generator (PKG) server. The network entity generates signatures for messages using an identity-based private key SKID obtained from the PKG server, which generates the identity-based private key SKID using (i) the ID value of the network entity and (ii) a private key SKPKG that is known only by the PKG server and corresponds to the public key PKPKG.

  • Patent number: 10496804
Abstract: A fingerprint authentication method and system and a terminal supporting a fingerprint authentication are provided. The fingerprint authentication method includes the following steps: a fingerprint receiving step: receiving fingerprint information input by a user; and a fingerprint template matching step: selecting a fingerprint template that has a highest using frequency from fingerprint templates on which matching has not been performed, and matching the fingerprint template with the fingerprint information. A fingerprint authentication succeeds when the fingerprint template matches with the fingerprint information, and the fingerprint template matching step is re-performed when the fingerprint template fails to match with the fingerprint information.

  • Publication number: 20190332545
Abstract: Systems and techniques for dynamic code execution location in heterogeneous memory are described herein. In an system having a first class of memory and second class of memory that are both byte-addressable, an interpreter may be initialized to execute a program from the first class of memory. The initialization may include locating an Interpreter Routine Address Table (IRIT) in the second class of memory and creating counters for routines in the IRIT. A counter for a routine may be modified as it is referenced from the IRIT during execution. The routine may be moved from the first class of memory to the second class of memory in response to the counter passing a threshold. An entry in the IRIT for the routine may be updated with an address in the second class of memory corresponding to the routine.
