  • Patent number: 7203523
Abstract: A portable telephone is designed to control generation of musical tones and/or incoming call sound in response to classes of telephone numbers by which incoming calls are to be received. That is, the portable telephone stops generating musical tones while generating incoming call sound in response to telephone numbers of the first class; or it gradually decreases musical tones in tone volume in response to telephone numbers of the second class. In response to telephone numbers of the third class, the portable telephone continues generating musical tones without interruption while automatically disconnecting the line without generating incoming call sound.

  • Patent number: 6697081
Abstract: An image processing method is capable of generating an image containing graphics that are transformed without carrying out multiplying/dividing operations. Image data of a transformed graphic is generated from image data of a source graphic stored in an image memory, and also stored into a frame buffer. Coordinate values of points of the graphic being transformed are determined utilizing digital differential analysis (DDA) algorithm-based processes. Image data of a location specified by the horizontal and vertical coordinate values of each point on the source graphic is read out from the image memory, and written into the frame buffer as image data of each point on the horizontal line segment.

  • Patent number: 6597928
Abstract: A portable telephone is designed to realize portable telephone functions and game device functions, particularly music games, which are embodied by a vibration device such as a vibration sensor and a vibration motor. When the user swings and vibrates the portable telephone like a maraca in synchronization with the rhythm of a prescribed musical tune, the vibration device produces vibration pulses, which are compared with rhythm pulses. Then, a score is marked on user's operation to swing the portable telephone on the basis of time differences detected between the vibration pulses and rhythm pulses and is displayed on the screen of a display.

  • Patent number: 6002391
Abstract: There is provided a display control device according to which video data for a plurality of windows to be displayed on a display screen is prestored in a video memory regardless of a display position of the video data in each of the windows and an effective zone of each of the windows in a display screen and a priority order of the respective windows are also prestored. With respect to each scanning position in the display screen, one of the windows which is of the highest priority order is selected from among the windows which are being scanned in accordance with an effective display zone and a priority order of each of the windows, and video data of the selected window is read from the video memory on the basis of relation between the display position and the storage position of the video data.

  • Patent number: 5999164
Abstract: Conversion of YUV-format data into RGB-format data is consecutively carried out through pipeline processing in two stages, namely, primary and secondary conversion which are derived from only the common expressions of theoretical conversion equations. The secondary conversion is executed by a circuit subsequent to ROMs 51a to 51c. Of the secondary conversion operation, the conversion of a G component requires complicated calculation. Therefore, analogous calculation is carried out to convert the G component.

  • Patent number: 5929711
Abstract: A PLL circuit includes a phase comparator that compares an external synchronizing signal and an internal synchronizing signal to detect a phase difference therebetween, and a voltage-controlled oscillator that generates the internal synchronizing signal by oscillation thereof. The frequency of the voltage-controlled oscillator is controlled depending upon the phase difference, so that the internal synchronizing signal becomes in phase with the external synchronizing signal. A limiting device is provided, which limits the phase of the external synchronizing signal supplied to the phase comparator to be within a predetermined window period that includes the timing of generation of the internal synchronizing signal.

  • Patent number: 5812829
Abstract: An image display control system stores display data in a memory. A display coordinate generator generates coordinates on a display space, based on a count for use in position control of display scan. An address generator generates addresses of the display data stored in the memory, based on the coordinates generated by the display coordinate generator. A memory interface device accesses the memory according to the addresses generated by the address generator. Mode-setting registers set a display mode for each memory access slot required for accessing one address of the memory. A slot-selecting device selects a set value from set values stored in the mode-setting registers to indicate the display mode. A decoder decodes the set value selected by the slot-selecting device to generate a control signal corresponding to the display mode to be supplied to the address generator and the memory interface device.
