The storage unit stores data of a state space based on a first measured values of a measurement item associated with an able-bodied person. The transmission/reception unit transmits ultrasonic waves to a subject via an ultrasonic probe, and generates reception signals corresponding to an ultrasonic waves reflected by the subject. The measured value calculation unit calculates a second measured value of the measurement item associated with the subject based on the reception signals. The distance calculation unit calculates a Mahalanobis distance of the subject based on the state space and the second measured value. The determination unit compares the Mahalanobis distance with a threshold to determine whether the subject has the disease evaluated by the measurement item.

Arms 24–27, extending horizontally along X and Y axes, each have one end fitted to the rotary shaft 30 and the other end fitted with experimental boxes 20–23. Objects such as plants and animals, etc. are placed in the boxes 20–23 and, while they are rotated in space, experiments are performed.

    Abstract: A rotation stabilizing device in a microgravitational rotating apparatus has vibration suppressed and rotation stabilized. Recess portions 10a, 10b are provided on a casing 10 so that bearings 14, 15 are arranged therein for supporting a rotary shaft 30. Experimental boxes 17a to 17h fixed to arms 16a to 16h rotate together with the rotary shaft 30. A fin 33 is fixed to outer circumferential surfaces of the experimental boxes 17a to 17h projecting outwardly therefrom. Pairs of electromagnetic coils 31a, 31b, in which the fin 33 is interposed with a predetermined gap maintained therebetween, and gap sensors 32 close thereto, are fitted on the casing 10 side. Displacement of the fin 33 is detected by the gap sensors 32 to be inputted into a control unit to thereby control excitation current of the electromagnetic coils 31a, 31b. The gap is brought into a position within a demand value and rotation is stabilized.

Side plates (1a to 1d), acceleration sensors (2a to 2d) and distance sensors (3a to 3d) are arranged in the boxes (20 to 23).

    Abstract: A working robot is used in space for inspecting the state of a structure of a house module in space or for replacing M/D shields. A robot body is provided with four multifunctional arms (or two moving arms and two multifunctional arms), which are equipped with manipulation tools at their leading ends. The robot is moved by the manipulation tools of each of the multifunctional arms gripping a working socket or the head of a bolt of an M/D shield and by the arms extending/contracting themselves. The M/D shield is fixed and lifted by the multifunctional arms 10 by inserting the manipulation tool into a T-handle socket. The bolts are removed by the manipulation tool of the multifunctional arms.
