  • Patent number: 4825254
Abstract: A film pressing device for use in an electrophotographic apparatus and adapted for pressing an electrophotographic film onto a processing head in the apparatus. The device includes a pressing plate for pressing the electrophotographic film onto the processing head and having a through-hole formed in the pressing plate for allowing a projecting light to pass therethrough. A light-shielding plate is provided on the pressing plate at one side of the through-hole so as to prevent any portion of the projecting light failing to pass through the through-hole from impinging upon portions of the electrophotographic film which are to be kept away from the projecting light. Thus, any portion of the light scattered from the light path between the projecting light source and the through-hole is prevented from reaching such portions of the electrophotographic film.

  • Patent number: 4766461
Abstract: In a projecting, recording and copying apparatus for use in an electrophotographic system, a movable mirror of a narrow width capable of traveling in the direction of its width and swiveling about its longitudinal axis is used so as to reflect a portion of the light rays shone by an image-forming optical system, thereby forming an image on the photosensitive material provided on the surface of a drum. The light rays passing by the movable mirror are focused on a screen. Since the movable mirror is moved in a swiveling manner, it is possible to project an image onto the screen and at the same time to form the same on the photosensitive material by means of a single mirror.

  • Patent number: 4727393
Abstract: A processing head for an electrophotographic apparatus has a developing section for developing an electrophotographic film with a liquid developer, and a drying section disposed adjacent to and on the downstream side of the developing section in the direction in which the film is advanced, to dry the film wetted with the developer by passing a gas in a direction that intersects the film advancing direction. The drying section is provided with a pair of frame members extending in a direction that intersects the film advancing direction so as to define both ends of the drying section in the film advancing direction. In addition, a pair of recesses are formed along opposing walls of the frame members, respectively. Accordingly, the flow rate of the gas passed through the recesses is higher than that of the gas passed along the other portion between the frame members.

  • Patent number: 4721979
Abstract: A document illuminating apparatus includes a reflecting plate which reflects the light from a rod-shaped illuminating lamp before it is incident on a document disposed on a document table. The reflecting area of the reflecting plate is varied in the longitudinal direction thereof in such a manner that the side of the reflecting plate on which the distance between the document and an optical path changing mirror is relatively great has a larger reflecting area than that of the side of the reflecting plate on which said distance is relatively short. Accordingly, the illuminance of the reflected light from the document which is incident on the optical path changing mirror is made uniform along the longitudinal axis of the illuminating lamp.

  • Patent number: 4678312
Abstract: A rotatable head type electrophotographic apparatus comprises a rotatable head supported on a moveable table and having a corona charging electrode and a light source secured thereto to face outwardly of the circumferential surface thereof. A development processing unit is supported on the moveable table close to a photosensitive material supported on a platen having a curved supporting surface. The light source is driven in accordance with a predetermined modulating signal to form an electrostatic latent image in the photosensitive material when the rotatable head is rotated and moved above the photosensitive material. The latent image is immediately developed by processing liquid flowing in the development processing unit along the surface of the photosensitive material.

  • Patent number: 4622915
Abstract: In a developing head of an electrophotographic system which develops an image by bringing a liquid developer into contact with a photosensitive face of electrophotographic material, through an opening provided in the developing head, a right angle is formed between the photosensitive face and the in-flow and out-flow route for the liquid developer and a gas for removing excess developer at the opening. A pressure-reducing chamber is formed between a frame around the opening and a frame surrounding the pressure-reducing chamber, both frames tightly contacting the electrophotosensitive material. Thus, the gap between the photosensitive face and a developing electrode is reduced and high speed for the gas for removing the developer is obtained. Liquid developer exuding from the frame around the opening is captured in the pressure-reducing chamber.
