  • Patent number: 6370272
Abstract: Data hidden in a plurality of contents is protected from illegal access by a third party. An embedding process is performed by using a frame pattern (mark) that is composed of multiple embedded block patterns comprising several different types and wherein the embedding process is varied in accordance with the time and the frame. One embedding method mixes at random several types of frame patterns having different arrangements of block patterns. The embedding method may change at random a range in which a block pattern is embedded. An embedded mark is detected by processing in parallel a plurality of patterns that are to be detected in contents, and if as a result of detection there is a reaction, it is ascertained that a mark is present. An illegal process may be traced by using an electronic fingerprint obtained by entering a false detection mark in a detector or by using an electronic fingerprint using a random sync signal for an embedding detector.

  • Patent number: 6249870
Abstract: The invention makes it possible to properly certify a genuine owner, and to inhibit deterioration of image quality of media information to which an embedding operation is performed by adaptively determining amount of embedding for characteristic values such as pixel values. It includes a data hiding method for embedding message data into media data comprising the steps of obtaining a secondary key by inputting a key having a predetermined value to a specified function; determining hiding positions in which the message data will be embedded according to the obtained secondary key, and selecting one of plural hiding functions according to the secondary key so that the selected hiding function is used for each of the determined hiding positions; and embedding the message data into each of the determined hiding positions according to the selected hiding function corresponding to the hiding position.

  • Patent number: 6230268
Abstract: An object of the Invention is to provide a system and method for effecting a secure data control using an electronic watermarking with a low manufacturing cost. A solution of the objective is a data control system is built which comprises; embedding a control flag indicating to control data using an electronic watermarking technique, preparing a token having information as to how to control the data by using the content of the data, distributing the token appended to the data, detecting the control flag from the distributed data, reading the token appended to the data when the control flag is detected, and controlling the data according to a predefined control rule of the token or the control flag. In addition, a subsequent data control is further suppressed by modifying the token in controlling the data.

  • Patent number: 6211772
Abstract: A semiconductor composite sensor using a plurality of semiconductor piezoresistive gauge elements connected in series. The piezoresistive elements are separated so that a high potential terminal of one of the resistive elements having the same resistance values and the substrate of the other of the resistive elements will be connected with equal potential values. Potential difference values between semiconductor regions serving as respective resistive elements and the substrates are made equal.

  • Patent number: 6055321
Abstract: The present invention provides a data hiding method of hiding media data in message data and a data extraction method of extracting the hidden data wherein message data is dispersively hidden in media data such as an image or sound to prevent a third person from modifying the message data easily.More specifically, the present invention relates to a data hiding method in which media data is expressed as a media array while message data is expressed as a message array so that the array elements of the message array can be dispersively hidden in the message array based on a state values specifying a particular array element of the media array, comprising the steps of:(a) determining the j-th (j.gtoreq.0) state value S.sub.j ;(b) determining (j+1)-th state value S.sub.

  • Patent number: 6005936
Abstract: A digital camera for embedding authentication information to detect the identity of a photographed image into an image. By supplying the authentication information integrally with image data, the verifier is enabled to verify the image data without saving the authentication information. Particularly, by converting the light inputted through an optical system to an electric signal, a CCD outputs an analog signal of an image which is converted to a digital signal. In response to the digital signal of the image, a digital camera having a region dividing unit divides the digital image into first and second regions. Authentication information is generated from data in the first region, which information is then encrypted. The encrypted authentication information is embedded into the second image region. The first and second image regions are then combined.

  • Patent number: 5497452
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described by which a geometric model accurately reflecting the intention of the designer can be simply constructed in the generation or modification of a geometric model, without any constraint on operation such as an input order. Using geometric elements (planes, sides, vertexes, etc.) and geometric constraints (size, angle, etc.) between the elements as inputs, bidirectional dependency relation expressions for these geometric elements are created in a dependency relation expression generating mechanism of a geometric reasoning module, and based upon the expressions dependency conditions (dependency order data) are automatically calculated in a dependency order calculating mechanism. Then, attribute values of the geometric elements are determined in a geometric attribute calculating mechanism, and a geometric model is generated in a modeler and outputted to a display device.
