  • Publication number: 20080061417
Abstract: With a mounting structure for an IC tag where an IC chip for mounting (10) is mounted so as to be electrically connected to antenna patterns (44a), (44b), the assembly process that mounts the IC chip for mounting (10) on the antenna patterns (44a), (44b) is simplified, which makes it possible to reduce the manufacturing cost of IC tags. The IC chip for mounting 10 is formed by winding conductive wires (12a), (12b) so as to encircle an outer surface of an IC chip (20) between two opposite edges of the IC chip (20) in a state where the conductive wires (12a), (12b) mechanically contact electrodes formed on the IC chip (20) and are electrically connected to the electrodes, so that the IC chip for mounting (10) is joined to the antenna patterns (44a), (44b) via the conductive wires (12a), (12b).

  • Publication number: 20070070860
Abstract: There is provided an optical disc drive for recordation/reproduction for three types of optical discs by selectively using one of three types of light beams. The optical disc drive comprises an objective lens. The objective lens has a step structure which gives an optical path length difference to an incident beam at each step. When the third laser beam passes through the objective lens, the objective lens produces normal diffraction order light converging to a recording surface of the third optical disc and undesired diffraction order light converging to a point deviating from the recording surface of the third optical disc. A distance from a point to which the normal diffraction order light converges to a point to which the undesired diffraction order light converges is larger than or equal to twice a pull-in range of a focus error signal obtained when the third optical disc is used.

  • Publication number: 20070002446
Abstract: A scanning lens for an imaging optical system converges a beam emitted by a light source and deflected by a deflector on a target surface to form a beam spot scanning in a main scanning direction thereon. The scanning lens includes a plastic lens formed by injection molding, which has a diffractive lens structure on at least one surface thereof. The diffractive Wens structure has a plurality of annular zones arranged concentrically about a rotational axis. Each annular zone has a diffracting surface that diffracts the light beam passing therethrough. The diffractive lens structure has stepped surfaces each connecting adjoining diffracting surfaces In a plane including the rotational axis and parallel with the main scanning direction, the stepped surfaces are inclined with respect to the rotational axis so that stress working between a metallic molding for the plastic lens and each of the stepped surfaces in demolding is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7158468
Abstract: An optical system for an optical head of an optical disc drive is capable of using first and second discs, protective layer of the second disc being thicker than that of the first disc, a data density of the second disc being lower than that of the first disc.
