  • Patent number: 8003369
Abstract: The present invention is a bacteriolytic agent containing a cationic surfactant (A) of which a counteranion is an acid having a pKa (25° C.) of 0 to 10. As the counterion, a carboxylate anion is preferable. As the cationic surfactant (A), a quaternary ammonium salt-type surfactant is preferable. Examples of the useful substance include a protein, an amino acid, a nucleic acid, an antibiotic, sugars or vitamins. The bacteriolytic agent of the present invention is excellent in a bacteriolytic power in a step of extracting a useful substance from a microorganism (useful substance producing bacterium etc.). In addition, denaturation of the useful substance during the step is small.

  • Patent number: 6129377
Abstract: An air bag (11) for a side air bag device capable of reducing the size and weight of the device (M1) while retaining a tension line (L--L) when expanded is mounted on the peripheral edge of a door opening (W) at the inside of a compartment, and is formed into a generally rectangular bag shape for covering the door opening when expanded, while being equipped with a gas inlet (19) for introducing an expanding gas. The air bag is provided with joints (22) jointing an inner side wall (12) and an outer side wall (13) partially so as to form a tension line L--L when expanded. The individual joints (22) are juxtaposed in plurality along the tension line so as to cross the tension line, and are arranged generally at vertically middle portions so as to form one expansion chamber (18) having upper and lower spaces (18a and 18b) for the expanding gas to flow therethrough.

  • Patent number: 6079732
Abstract: A structure for arrangement of an occupant protective apparatus for a vehicle includes: an inflator disposed at a predetermined position of a vehicle body and adapted to eject a gas at a time of a side collision when a high load is applied to a side of the vehicle body; a bag stored in a folded state in such a manner as to extend between a front pillar and a roof side rail and adapted to be inflated in a shape of a curtain below the roof side rail in a vehicle compartment by a gas supplied from the inflator, the bag being disposed in a space formed between a body panel and an interior member disposed on an inner side of the vehicle compartment with a predetermined interval with the body panel; and an energy absorbing member provided in the space and disposed in close proximity to the bag so as to absorb an impact from the inner side of the vehicle compartment.

  • Patent number: 4519963
Abstract: An electroconductive cross-linked polyolefin foam having electric resistance of not more than 100 M.OMEGA. and comprising uniform minute cells and proving useful for the production of IC cases, etc. is provided by a method which comprises kneading 100 parts by weight of a polyolefin, 10 to 30 parts by weight of carbon particles, and suitable amounts of a foaming agent and a cross-linking agent and heating the resultant cross-linkable and foamable composition under atmospheric pressure thereby allowing the composition to be cross-linked and foamed without being abruptly foamed or expanded or by a method which comprises heating the aforementioned cross-linkable and foamable composition in a metal mold under pressure to a temperature at which the foaming agent is not substantially decomposed thereby cross-linking the composition and then heating the resultant cross-linked foamable composition under atmospheric pressure thereby allowing the composition to be foamed without being abruptly foamed or expanded.

  • Patent number: 4435346
Abstract: An open-cell foamed article of a cross-linked polyolefin having a high open-cell ratio and a high degree of expansion is produced by a method which comprises the steps of preparing a foamable and cross-linkable polyolefin composition, forming the composition into a desired shape maintaining its gel percent at zero, decomposing the cross-linking agent and blowing agent concurrently by heating the composition under atmospheric pressure in such conditions that the peak of the ratio of the degree of cross-linking to the degree of decomposition of the blowing agent is not more than 20 and exerting a mechanical deformation to the resulting polyolefin foam to rupture the cell membranes.

  • Patent number: 4141426
Abstract: A support assembly for radiators and air conditioning condensors for motor vehicles which includes a support frame having a central opening and a center brace of roughly crank shaped cross section provided in the center of the frame and vertically cutting across the opening therein. The crank shaped cross section is formed by two parallel attachment faces which project laterally with respect to the opening in opposite directions and a member connecting the two faces. The two attachment faces are arranged and configured such that they respectively serve as a mount for an inboard side of the radiator and an inboard side of the condensor and such that the attachment face for the radiator overlaps the condensor and the attachment face for the condensor overlaps the radiator.
