  • Patent number: 9626605
Abstract: An apparatus includes a determination unit configured to determine whether rendering positions of two pieces of rendering data, each representing a semitransparent state by including pixels that are to be rendered by a rendering unit and pixels that are not to be rendered, overlap, and a control unit configured to, if it is determined by the determination unit that the rendering positions of the two pieces of rendering data overlap, perform control such that one of the two pieces of rendering data is not rendered by the rendering unit. Based on the level of the overlap between a plurality of semitransparent objects, the apparatus converts each hatch pattern so that image quality deterioration does not occur.

  • Patent number: 8767265
Abstract: First intermediate data is generated from print data and character edge data serving as second intermediate data is generated by extracting edge sections of a character from the print data. A rendering process is applied to the first intermediate data and a dither matrix with a first number of lines is used to apply a pseudo halftone formation process to data after the rendering process to generate a first pseudo-halftone image. A rendering process is applied to the second intermediate data and a dither matrix with a second number of lines greater than the first number of lines is used to apply a pseudo halftone formation process to data after the rendering process to generate a second pseudo-halftone image. A pseudo-halftone image obtained by an OR operation of the first pseudo-halftone image and the second pseudo-halftone image is output.

  • Patent number: 8760690
Abstract: When a printing apparatus completes reception of all print data, a reception unit in the printing apparatus, which receives a cancel notification from a cloud print service, receives the cancel notification by sending a print data status request from the printing apparatus to the cloud print service, or by monitoring a file name of print data which currently undergoes print processing and checking if the file name is changed to a file name indicating a cancel.

  • Patent number: 8619333
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a reception unit which receives an electronic document, a generation unit which generates a display list containing edge information indicating the outline of an object contained in the received electronic document, fill information for controlling whether to fill in the inside of the outline of the object, and control information for controlling image formation of each page that forms the electronic document, an edge position extraction unit which obtains the intersections of the object and the line based on the edge information, and extracts the positions of the edges of the object on the line, and a setting unit which sets, based on the data amount of extracted edges and the data amount of edges in the page that is predicted by analyzing the control information, a threshold for controlling extraction of the edges to fall within a predetermined data amount.

  • Patent number: 8378152
Abstract: Propylene glycol is produced by a method of producing propylene glycol, the method including: obtaining propylene glycol by performing catalytic hydrogenation of glycerol in the presence of a catalyst, the catalyst containing zinc oxide and at least one of copper and copper oxide, and the catalyst, after being reduced at 180° C. to 230° C. in the presence of hydrogen, showing a half width of from 0.4 to 1.1 of a peak having a peak top at a position at which a diffraction angle (2?±0.2°) is 43.1° in an X-ray diffraction pattern obtained using CuK? as a radiation source.

  • Patent number: 8081324
Abstract: To speedily accomplish print processing, a computer produces print data processible in a printing apparatus based on application data if the application data is created, regardless of user's print instruction. The produced print data is stored in a storage region corresponding to a folder that stores the created application data. If the print instruction is entered by a user, the printing apparatus can promptly execute the print processing using the print data corresponding to the print instruction.
