  • Publication number: 20190375666
Abstract: Provided is a method of manufacturing a glass film, including: a conveying step of conveying an elongated glass film (G) along a longitudinal direction thereof; and a cutting step of irradiating the glass film (G) with a laser beam (L) from a laser irradiation apparatus (19) while conveying the glass film (G) through the conveying step, to thereby separate the glass film (G). The cutting step includes generating a thread-like peeled material (Ge) in a helical shape from an end portion of the separated glass film (G) in a width direction. The thread-like peeled material (Ge) has a width (W) of 180 ?m or more and 300 ?m or less. In addition, the thread-like peeled material (Ge) has a helical diameter (D) of 80 mm or more and 200 mm or less.

  • Publication number: 20190152826
Abstract: Provided is method of producing a glass roll, the method including: a conveying step of conveying a glass film (G) along a longitudinal direction thereof; a cutting step of irradiating the glass film (G) with a laser beam (L) from a laser irradiation apparatus (19) while conveying the glass film (G) by the conveying step, to thereby separate the glass film (G) into a non-product portion (Gc) and a product portion (Gd); and a take-up step of taking up the product portion (Gd) into a roll shape, to thereby form a glass roll (R). The cutting step includes winding a thread-like peeled material (Ge) generated from an end portion of the product portion (Gd) in a width direction around a rod-shaped collecting member (20a), to thereby collect the thread-like peeled material (Ge).

  • Patent number: 10285836
Abstract: The present application describes an implant system useable for positioning an implant device such as a device useful for restricting passage of ingested food into the stomach. In one embodiment, the disclosed system includes a plurality of anchors that may be coupled to tissue within the stomach, or to a tissue tunnel formed by plicating stomach wall tissue. The anchor includes a loop. During use, the implant device is inserted through the loop and expanded such that it retains its position within the loop until removed. Instruments for implanting and explanting the implant device are also described.

  • Publication number: 20170196715
Abstract: A system for deploying a prosthesis over a Carina between an ipsilateral lumen and a contralateral lumen includes a guidewire, a guidewire capture catheter, a self-expanding tubular prosthesis, and a delivery catheter. The guidewire is first placed in the ipsilateral lumen. The guidewire capture catheter is then advanced from the contralateral lumen to a position at or above the ipsilateral lumen. The guidewire is typically advanced through an occlusion, which may be a total occlusion, and captured by a capture element on the guidewire capture catheter. The guidewire capture catheter pulls the guidewire out through the contralateral side, and the guidewire is used to advance a delivery catheter from the ipsilateral side. The delivery catheter delivers a first segment of the tubular prosthesis in the ipsilateral lumen and a second segment of the prosthesis in the contralateral lumen.

  • Patent number: 8556925
Abstract: Implantable devices, methods of implantation and tools for performing the implantations. A device includes a volume occupying member having a working configuration such that, when the device is implanted into the abdominal cavity of the patient, the device performs at least one of: prevention of expansion of the stomach of the patient into a space occupied by the volume occupying member in the abdominal cavity; and compression of a portion of the stomach. A device is configured to have substantially neutral buoyancy or a slightly positive buoyancy when implanted in the abdominal cavity external of the stomach. An attachment member is connected to the volume occupying member, and at least a portion of the attachment member is configured to encourage tissue ingrowth from at least one internal abdominal structure when held in contact therewith.
