Abstract: The present invention relates to laundry detergent compositions which can optionally comprise bleach, said compositions comprising from about 0.01% to about 10% by weight, of a polyalkyleneimine. These detergent compositions provide fabric appearance benefits inter alia mitigation of fabric damage via bleaching agents.

The dispersants are polyalkyleneimines having a backbone molecular weight of from about 2000 to about 5000 daltons and having most of the N--H unit hydrogens, preferably all N--H unit hydrogens substituted with from about 20 to about 50, alkyleneoxy units.

Abstract: Cleaning and soil dispersing compositions comprising ethoxylated/propoxylated polyalkyleneamine polymers are provided. Thus, detergent compositions which comprise ethoxylated/propoxylated polyalkyleneamine polymers, such as poly(ethyleneimine) with a degree of ethoxylation of 1.0, provide soil dispersing performance in the wash liquor and whitening and/or cleaning benefits to fabrics, hard-surfaces, or dishware.
