  • Patent number: 4645335
Abstract: In an electrophotographic copying machine of a type in which an original table is fixed, a wire is stretched over pulleys provided on two movable members so that a slit for scanning an orignal and a set of reflecting mirrors for reflecting light from the slit towards a lens may be moved at a ratio of 2:1.According to this invention, an endless wire having the opposite ends of the wire connected is used, and an adjusting screw capable of adjusting a spacing between both the movable members by turning the screw is provided at the connected portion, and focussing can be made by turning the adjusting screw. If this adjusting screw is made to expose to the outside of the copying machine body, focussing can be made from outside.

  • Patent number: 4615364
Abstract: A powdered developer supplying device in an electrostatic reproducing apparatus comprises a developer hopper and a developer receptacle. A cover for opening and closing a developer inlet opening of the developer receptacle is urged by a spring in the close direction. When the receptacle is installed on the hopper, the cover is opened by an operating member which is operated by the developer receptacle. A limiting member is provided for limiting movement of the cover from open/close positions. A bayonet type coupling member is provided for coupling the receptacle to the hopper by rotation after the receptacle is installed on the hopper. A developer receptacle wall which forms the bottom of the receptacle when the latter is up-ended at the time developer is being supplied is formed on a slope to facilitate flow of the powdered developer from the receptacle, through the opening into the hopper.

  • Patent number: 4511237
Abstract: An electrophotographic reproducing machine wherein an integrally formed dish-like housing for an exposure optical system is mounted onto a machine frame which accommodates therein a plurality of process units for reproducing and is opened upward, and a document glass plate is mounted at the top portion of the housing for the exposure optical system through glass mounting plates. The housing accommodates therein a slit plate for scanning of an exposure lamp, a projection lens, which is formed in its peripheral walls with vent holes for promoting ventilation within the machine and which has at its bottom portion a shield bottom wall serving as also a heat insulating plate. Guide rail surfaces for guiding movable mounts of the optical system are formed on both side walls of the housing opposite to each other.

  • Patent number: 4491161
Abstract: A toner dispensing apparatus consists of a toner receiving portion and a toner container unit to be mounted on the former. The toner receiving portion has an openable cover for opening and closing an opening portion of the toner receiving portion. The toner container unit has container, a seal member for sealing an opening portion of the container, and a slide member connected with a portion of the seal member and slidable with respect to the opening portion. The seal member is torn off from the opening portion when the slide member is moved in conjunction with the opening motion of the openable cover.

  • Patent number: 4482244
Abstract: A magnetic brush cleaning device in which a magnetic attraction roller having a surface for attracting magnetic powder is disposed so as to face the surface of a toner image retaining member through a gap D, the height of a brushlike ear of the magnetic powder attracted to the magnetic attraction roller is restricted by ear restriction element faced to the surface of the magnetic attraction roller through a gap H and the brushlike ear of the magnetic powder thus restricted slides frictionally on the surface of the toner image retaining member so as to remove the toner on the surface of the image retaining member. The gap D and the gap H satisfy the following relation:0.4 mm.ltoreq.H.ltoreq.D.ltoreq.H+0.4 mm.The magnetic powder is an insulating carrier, the gap D is from 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm at the brushing position and a voltage of 800 V to 1,600 V of a polarity which electrically attracts the toner is applied to the surface of the magnetic attraction member.
