  • Publication number: 20200409144
Abstract: About the axis of a first direction, a transmission-type screen is inclined with respect to a surface perpendicular to the optical axis of an incident scanning beam at a second rotation angle of opposite sign to a first rotation angle at which a scanner is inclined with respect to a surface perpendicular to a light beam incident from a light source unit, whereby the transmission-type screen is disposed so that a display image is curved roughly along a negative direction of a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, and the curvature direction of the display image is in a direction of cancelling the curvature of a virtual image generated by a curved surface shape of a first mirror, a second mirror, and a windshield.

  • Publication number: 20200152065
Abstract: A virtual image display unit displays a virtual image for an object in a real scene ahead of the vehicle. A display control unit causes the virtual image to be displayed at a correction display position closer to the upper side in the vertical direction and/or a deep side in the depth direction when viewed from a viewer, than a standard display position at which the virtual image is normally displayed in association with the object in the real scene ahead of a host vehicle, in accordance with the relative speed or the relative distance between the host vehicle and the object in the real scene.

  • Publication number: 20170351090
Abstract: The present invention relates to a head-up display device that allows a viewer to view an actual scene overlapped with a virtual image, and that is capable of creating a display image with suppressed luminance variation. A MEMS scanner scans synthesized laser light two-dimensionally in the main scanning direction H and the sub-scanning direction V substantially orthogonal to the main scanning direction H. A controller unit causes a first scan for generating a display image M on a transmissive screen by scanning in the main scanning direction H at high speed while scanning in the sub-scanning direction V, and a second scan for scanning a position displaced more toward the sub-scanning direction V than the first scan on the transmissive screen.

  • Patent number: 9715116
Abstract: A color mixing device and a display device are configured to represent the color white in a consistent fashion, even in low-luminance areas. These devices are provided with: a red light source for outputting red light at optical intensity in response to a first current presented thereto; a green light source for outputting green light at optical intensity in response to a second current presented thereto; a blue light source for outputting blue light at optical intensity in response to a third current presented thereto; and a color mixing means for color mixing of the red light, the green light, and the blue light together. A light attenuating part transmits or reflects the blue light, bringing about attenuation and advance thereof in the output direction. The blue light output by the blue light source is attenuated to a greater extent than the light of the other colors during output.

  • Patent number: 9459452
Abstract: Provided is a display device for a vehicle that can, in a configuration in which the cost of parts is curbed, quickly raise the temperature of a laser light source (LD) in a low temperature environment, and quickly perform stable image output. The LDs (11, 12, 13) emit laser light (RGB) and an MEMS mirror (30) scans the laser light (RGB) and generates a display image (M). A convex mirror (70) reflects display light (L) indicating the display image (M) in an external direction via a translucent light-transmitting unit (90). An LD driving means (101) emits laser light (RGB) to the LDs (11, 12, 13) when the temperature is low, and causes the LDs (11, 12, 13) to perform self-heating driving for raising the temperature of themselves.

  • Patent number: 9081184
Abstract: A head-up display device and a self-checking method therefor are provided, which are able to suppress the direct output of a laser beam to outside. A reflecting means reflects an image generated by a scanning means and projects the image outside of a case, and an angle-adjusting means adjusts the reflecting means to a desired angle. After the ignition switch of the vehicle is turned on, a light-emitting means outputs a scanning laser beam, and the value of the current flowing to the light-emitting means is detected, or a first light intensity, which is the light intensity of the scanning laser beam, is detected. For a period extending at least from the output of the scanning laser beam by the light-emitting means to the establishment of a predetermined condition, the angle-adjusting means is controlled such that the reflecting means is set to a non-visible position at which the scanning laser beam is reflected inside the case.
