  • Patent number: 8964410
Abstract: A transformer has two magnetic cores, at least one primary winding unit mounted in the magnetic cores, at least one secondary winding unit mounted in the magnetic cores and two rectifying circuit boards externally mounted beside the magnetic cores. An AC voltage output from the secondary winding unit is transmitted to and rectified by the rectifying circuit board. Therefore, the size of the transformer is compact, and heat energy generated by electronic elements mounted on the rectifying circuit board is effectively dissipated to maintain normal operation of the transformer. Further, since the transmission path from the secondary winding unit to the rectifying circuit board is short, energy loss is reasonably reduced when the transformer is operated under a high frequency situation or a larger current mode.

  • Patent number: 8243472
Abstract: A power supply having a two-way DC to DC converter has an AC to DC converter and a two-way DC to DC converter. When an AC power is input to the AC to DC converter, the AC to DC converter transforms the AC power to a middle level DC power and the two-way DC to DC converter transforms the middle level DC power to a low level DC power. When the AC power is unavailable and the two-way DC to DC converter obtains an external DC power, the two-way DC to DC converter transforms the external DC power to the middle level DC power. Therefore, if the power supply obtains the external DC power, the power supply can still output the middle level DC power even the AC power is unavailable.

  • Patent number: 8134849
Abstract: An AC to DC power converter with hold up time function has a charging switch and a mode switch. The charging switch is connected between an output capacitor of a PFC controlling circuit and an energy-storage capacitor. The mode switch is connected between the energy-storage capacitor and an input of the PFC controlling circuit. The charging and mode switches are controlled by a PFC controller. When AC power is normal, the charging switch turns on and mode switch turns off. Meanwhile, the energy-storage capacitor and the output capacitor are connected in parallel to store energy in the energy-storage capacitor. When the AC power source is interrupted, the charging switch turns off and mode switch turns on. Therefore, the energy-storage capacitor is disconnected from the output capacitor. The PFC circuit obtains power from the energy-storage capacitor and continuous to supply an output voltage for a while.

  • Patent number: 7729143
Abstract: A hold-up time extension controlling device for a power supply, that has a power factor correction circuit, a hold-up time extension circuit, a hold-up time controlling circuit, a storage capacitor and a DC to DC converter. The hold-up time extension controlling device has a switch and an auxiliary capacitor. When an AC power source is normal, the switch is controlled to turn on according to the power factor correction circuit to make the auxiliary capacitor connecting to the storage capacitor in parallel to averagely have a ripple current. When the AC power source is interrupted, the switch is controlled to turn off. At the time, the hold-up time extension circuit obtains a storage power of the auxiliary capacitor and then output to the DC to DC converter to keep the voltage of the storage capacitor at a preset voltage for a long time.

  • Patent number: 7646276
Abstract: The transformer has a bobbin, a coil assembly and a magnetic core assembly. The bobbin is mounted in the magnetic core assembly and has multiple connecting pins being formed on at least one side of a bottom surface of the bobbin. Each connecting pin has a top surface as a soldering surface that corresponds to a solder pad on a back of a circuit board. At least one fastener is further formed on the bottom surface of the circuit board. Therefore, when the transformer is mounted through the circuit board, the connecting pins are soldered on the back of the circuit board to reduce the total thickness of the combination of the transformer and the circuit board.

  • Publication number: 20070297198
Abstract: A synchronous voltage modulation circuit for resonance power converter has a resonance current extracting unit and at least one duty cycle modulation circuit. The resonance current extracting unit extracts the resonance current of the transformer for each duty cycle modulation circuit. The duty cycle modulation circuit controls the conduction period of the electronic switch on the secondary side of the transformer according to the power usage of the load connected to the power output and the resonance frequency of the resonance current on the transformer detected by the resonance current extracting unit. The conduction period increases or decreases symmetrically with respect to the central axis. The power converter output of the resonance power converter converter forms a closed loop control, thereby providing stable power to its load.

  • Patent number: 6813166
Abstract: A power converter with synchronous rectifying through the control of a current transformer is disclosed. The basic architecture of the power converter includes a flyback transformer (10), a switch controller (20) and a current transformer (30). The secondary winding of the flyback transformer (10) is connected to the primary winding of the current transformer (30) used to control the switch controller (20). The primary winding of the current transformer (30) is connected to a synchronous rectifying switch (Q7). If a current change occurs on the secondary winding of the flyback transformer (10), the current transformer (30) detects the phase change and enables the switch controller (20) to switch off the synchronous rectifying switch (Q7). The current transformer (30) turns off the synchronous rectifying switch (Q7) anticipatorily in the continuous current output mode to prevent any power loss from crossovers.
