Disclosed herein too is a method of manufacturing a flame retardant composition comprising blending 30 to 50 weight percent of a polycarbonate; 10 to 30 weight percent of a polyester; 10 to 35 weight percent of a polysiloxane-polycarbonate copolymer; and a phosphazene flame retardant, where all weight percents are based on the total weight of the flame retardant composition.
