  • Publication number: 20170070153
Abstract: A controller for increasing efficiency of a power converter includes a comparison module and a gate signal generation unit. The comparison module is used for generating a detection voltage according to a direct current (DC) input voltage of a primary side of the power converter, and comparing the detection voltage with a predetermined value to generate a comparison result. The gate signal generation unit is used for changing a sink current flowing through a gate pin of the controller according to the comparison result, wherein the gate pin of the controller is coupled to a power switch of the primary side of the power converter.

  • Publication number: 20170025748
Abstract: Novel and advantageous antennas are provided. A multi-functional antenna can morph in order to change geometrical shape and thereby change its antenna radiation characteristics. Such characteristics can include radiation pattern, bandwidth, beamwidth, operational frequency, and directivity. The antenna can therefore be multifunctional such that one single antenna can serve multiple applications.

  • Publication number: 20150089595
Abstract: One embodiment provides a system that facilitating location verification of a wireless access point and associated user devices. During operation, the access point establishes a secure communication channel with a location verification server. The access point then transmits to the location verification server an identifier of the access point, an external IP address of the access point, and location information for the access point via the secure communication channel. Next, the access point receives a packet from a user device, replaces the packet's source IP address with the access point's external IP address, and transmits the packet, thereby allowing the user device's physical location to be verified.

  • Patent number: 7092567
Abstract: A method of post-processing character data from an optical character recognition (OCR) engine and apparatus to perform the method. This exemplary method includes segmenting the character data into a set of initial words. The set of initial words is word level processed to determine at least one candidate word corresponding to each initial word. The set of initial words is segmented into a set of sentences. Each sentence in the set of sentences includes a plurality of initial words and candidate words corresponding to the initial words. A sentence is selected from the set of sentences. The selected sentence is word disambiguity processed to determine a plurality of final words. A final word is selected from the at least one candidate word corresponding to a matching initial word. The plurality of final words is then assembled as post-processed OCR data.

  • Patent number: 6792208
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates optical switching. The system starts by receiving a plurality of optical input signals. The system then divides each of the plurality of optical input signals into a plurality of wavebands that can be carried on a single optical fiber, wherein each waveband includes a predetermined subset of the wavelengths in the optical signal. Once the optical input signals have been divided into wavebands, the wavebands are then routed through a waveband switch. After being routed through the waveband switch, the wavebands are combined to form a plurality of optical output signals, where each optical output signal can possible include wavebands from different optical input signals. Additionally, some of the wavebands can be divided into wavelengths, and the wavelengths can be routed through a wavelength switch or a traffic grooming switch.
