  • Publication number: 20060233080
Abstract: A method for driving a movable component of a hardware device to move a driving distance includes the steps of: (1) adjusting at least one of the former time and the latter time according to an advancing time so that a sum of the former time and the latter time is substantially equal to the advancing time; and (2) driving the movable component to the driving distance by the former force for the former time and by the latter force for the latter time.

  • Publication number: 20060227682
Abstract: The invention is to provide a method for determining an optimum writing strategy for an optical disk drive to record data onto a recordable optical disk. According to a preferred embodiment of the method of the invention, a pre-stored third type datum is retrieved from the recordable optical disk. Then, a step of judgment is performed to judge if the third type datum matches one of the plurality of first type data stored in the optical disk drive, and each of the plurality of first type data maps one of the first writing strategies. If the result is NO, a second writing strategy, of which the mapped second type datum matches the third type datum, is loaded from a remote server, and the loaded second writing strategy is determined as the optimum writing strategy.

  • Patent number: 7072261
Abstract: A method for driving a movable component of a hardware device includes the steps of: (1) driving the movable component to move the driving distance by the former force to determine a base time; (2) setting a reference time, wherein the reference time is smaller than the base time; (3) determining a former period according to the reference time, and determining the former distance and the latter distance according to the former time, the former force and the base time; and (4) determining a latter period according to the latter force and the latter distance, wherein the movable component is driven by the former force for the former period and then is driven by the latter force for the latter period.

  • Patent number: 6968244
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus and a method allowing N optical information reproducing devices to share an audio processing device. The apparatus includes a first connecting apparatus and (N?1) second connecting apparatuses. The first connecting apparatus corresponding to one optical information reproducing device is used to connect the corresponding optical information reproducing device to the audio processing device. Each second connecting apparatus corresponding to one optical information reproducing device is used to couple the corresponding optical information reproducing device to the first connecting apparatus. The N optical information reproducing devices are able to share the audio processing device using the apparatus of the invention without changing the hardware connection design of the audio processing device and the optical information reproducing device.

  • Publication number: 20030210631
Abstract: The invention is to provide a method for determining a maximum storage capacity of an optical information record medium having a pregroove on which predetermined address codes are marked. The method is performed by detecting the last physical predetermined address code of the predetermined address codes. The maximum storage capacity is represented in terms of time by a time value representative of the detected last physical predetermined address code.

  • Patent number: 6335598
Abstract: The present invention relates to a brushless motor system. The brushless motor system has a brushless motor, a motor driver, and at least one sensing circuit. The brushless motor has a rotor, and the sensing circuit is used to detect the rotor position. The sensing circuit has a Hall sensor and two capacitor devices. The Hall sensor has two output ports. As the rotor rotates, the Hall sensor will generate a sensing signal at each of the two output ports. Each of the capacitor devices is connected in series to one of the two output ports of the Hall sensor, and the two capacitor devices are used to filter out DC biases in the two sensing signals. The motor driver is connected to the two capacitor devices for driving the rotor of the brushless motor according to the two sensing signals from the two capacitor devices.
