Abstract: This application provides an image display method for an electronic device, an encoding method, and a related apparatus. The image display method for an electronic device includes: obtaining a to-be-processed image; obtaining high-luminance enhancement data, where the high-luminance enhancement data includes a high dynamic range layer (hdrLayer); obtaining initial backlight luminance of the electronic device; obtaining target backlight luminance of the electronic device based on the initial backlight luminance; performing luminance adjustment on the to-be-processed image based on the hdrLayer to obtain a target image for the target backlight luminance; and displaying the target image at the target backlight luminance. In this application, a luminance range of a screen can be fully utilized for image display, and optimal end-to-end experience is achieved.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide an image processing method and an electronic device, and relate to the field of image processing technologies. The method includes: obtaining display information of a to-be-displayed image at current target backlight luminance of a display and display information of the to-be-displayed image at luminance that is of the display and that is higher than the current target backlight luminance, and obtaining display information of the to-be-displayed image based on the two types of display information.

Abstract: An image capture method, an image display method, and an apparatus are provided to reduce a difference between an image displayed on a display end and an image displayed on a capture end. During encoding, the capture end transmits data for describing a luminance mapping relationship between a before-compression image and an after-compression image to the display end, so that consistency between the image on the capture end and the image on the display end is ensured as much as possible. In addition, screen related information for describing luminance of the capture end is transmitted to the display end, so that the display end adjusts backlight and a pixel value based on the screen related information, to improve consistency between the image on the capture end and the image on the display end.
