  • Publication number: 20140020803
Abstract: An object is to enhance traction performance on snowy road surfaces whilst suppressing a drop in braking performance and handling stability performance on dry road surfaces and icy road surfaces. A tread (12) includes first auxiliary grooves (21) formed on one groove width direction side of lug grooves (18, the first auxiliary grooves (21) opening onto the lug grooves (18) and terminating inside central land portion rows (16) (land portions), and second auxiliary grooves (22) formed on the other groove width direction side of the lug grooves (18), the second auxiliary grooves (22) opening onto the lug grooves (18) so as to face opening portions (21A) of the first auxiliary grooves (21) that open onto the lug grooves (18), and terminating inside the central land portion rows (16) (land portions).

  • Publication number: 20140014246
Abstract: An object is to enhance traction performance and handling stability performance, these being related to braking performance and acceleration performance on snowy road surfaces. A tread (12) of a pneumatic tire (10) includes: two circumferential direction main grooves (14) that are formed further to the tire width direction inside from the tread (12) ground contact edge T than positions at ? of the ground contact width W and that extend along the tire circumferential direction; a central land portion row (16) formed between the two circumferential direction main grooves (14); edge land portion rows (18) respectively formed at tire width direction outsides of the two circumferential direction main grooves (14; and main lug grooves (20) extending in the edge land portion rows (18) from the circumferential direction main grooves (14) towards the ground contact edges T.

  • Publication number: 20130020002
Abstract: In a pneumatic tire 10, inclined grooves 120, 170 are formed, the groove 120 with groove depth becoming larger and groove width in circumferential-direction becoming smaller as the groove 120 extends toward the inner side in width—direction, the groove 170 with groove depth becoming larger and groove width in the circumferential-direction becoming smaller as the groove 170 extends toward the outer side in the width-direction.. An outer end portion of the groove 120 in the width—direction is continuous with a land portion 110 and an inner end portion of the groove 120 in the width-direction extends toward circumferential groove 22 along an end portion of a land portion 160 in the circumferential-direction. An inner end portion of the groove 170 in the width-direction is continuous with the land portion 160 and the groove 170 extends along an inner end portion of the land portion 110 in the width-direction.

  • Patent number: 8267132
Abstract: There is provided a pneumatic tire sufficiently improving drainage performance, driving stability, uneven wear resistance and quiet performance. A pneumatic tire 1 has at least one tire circumferential groove 9 extending along the tire circumferential direction in a tread portion 2. In addition, there are provided in a surface of the tread portion, a plurality of inclined grooves consisting of two or more small grooves 10 inclined at the same direction with respect to the tire circumferential direction and having an inclination angle within a range between 10 degrees and 60 degrees and configured in a zig-zag manner by coupling ends of the small grooves 10. The inclined grooves 11 are included in any widthwise section of the tread portion 2 of the tire and a part of the inclined grooves 11 is opened to the tire circumferential groove 9.

  • Publication number: 20120018068
Abstract: A pneumatic tire which comprises a land portion (10) and a land portion (20). A main groove (50) extending along the tire circumferential direction is formed between the land portion (10) and the land portion (20). The land portion (10) comprises a groove wall (10a) that forms the main groove (50). The land portion (20) comprises a groove wall (20a) that forms the main groove (50). The groove wall (10a) and the groove wall (20a) are serpentine along the tire circumferential direction (R) when seen from a plane of the tread surface, and the groove width of the main groove (50) in the tread width direction (WTR) varies in a predetermined repetition interval (?) along the tire circumferential direction. The ratio of the minimum width (WMIN) of the groove to the maximum width (WMAX) of the groove satisfies a relation of 35%?WMIN/WMAX?85%.
