  • Publication number: 20140000389
Abstract: A biochemical analysis cartridge stores a plurality of dry analysis elements corresponding to a plurality of measurement items necessary for measurement of samples and supplies the dry analysis elements to a biochemical analysis apparatus. The biochemical analysis cartridge is equipped with a memory element that stores calibration curve data for all dry analysis elements which are within their effective lifetimes at the time of manufacture or shipment of the biochemical analysis cartridge.

  • Patent number: 6468801
Abstract: Whether or not there remains a frameless chemical analysis film in a cartridge in which a plurality of the frameless chemical analysis films are stacked is judged by a film presence detector disposed in a second position different from a position where a film takeout mechanism takes out the frameless chemical analysis films from the cartridge so that the film presence detector does not interfere with the film takeout mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5874048
Abstract: A spotting tip includes a tip body which is fitted on the end of a nozzle for sucking liquid contained in a container and inserted into the liquid in the container through a mouth of the container, and a lid member which is brought into contact with the mouth of the container and closes the space between the tip and the edge of the mouth when the tip is inserted into the container to a predetermined depth. At least one fine communicating passage is formed in at least one of the lid member and the tip body to communicate the inside and outside spaces of the container on opposite sides of the lid member.

  • Patent number: 5660793
Abstract: A biochemical analysis system includes a depositing mechanism which deposits a sample liquid on a chemical analysis slide having a reagent layer, an incubator which incubates the chemical analysis slide with the sample liquid at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time, a transfer mechanism which loads the slide in the incubator and removes it therefrom, and an optical density measuring system which measures the optical density of the chemical analysis slide after incubation and determines the concentration of a specific biochemical component in the sample liquid through the optical density of the chemical analysis slide. The incubator has a rotary body in which a slide discarding hole is formed at the center thereof and a plurality of slide holding portions are formed to extend from the outer peripheral surface of the rotary body toward the center of the rotary body and communicate with the slide discarding hole.

  • Patent number: 5626740
Abstract: When determining an activity of particular predetermined ions in a sample liquid by use of a device for measuring ionic activity including a pair of ion-selective electrodes which are selectively responsive to particular predetermined ions, a pair of spotting holes through which a sample liquid and a reference liquid are respectively supplied to the ion-selective electrodes and a porous bridge which communicates the spotting holes with each other so as to permit the sample liquid and the reference liquid spotted to the spotting holes to electrically contact with each other, for instance, the sample liquid is first spotted to one of the spotting holes of the device for measuring ionic activity with a first spotting tool, and at least one of the first spotting tool and the device for measuring ionic activity is thereafter moved to remove the first spotting tool away from the device for measuring ionic activity.

  • Patent number: 5151755
Abstract: Defects in a measurement device are detected in a biochemical analysis apparatus wherein a droplet of liquid sample is applied to an analysis medium containing a reagent, which chemically reacts with a specific constituent in the liquid sample, the analysis medium is then incubated, the optical densities of the analysis medium are determined, and concentration of the specific constituent in the liquid sample is determined from the optical densities of the analysis media thus determined. The method for detecting defects comprises the steps of irradiating light, which has passed through a plurality of interference filters by turns, to a reference density plate, and measuring the amount of light reflected by the reference density plate. Measured values representing the amounts of reflected light, which have thus been measured for the interference filters, are compared with one another. Defects in the measurement device are detected from the results of the comparison.
