  • Patent number: 9879649
Abstract: The present invention provides a floating offshore wind turbine capable of suppressing yawing of a nacelle caused by a gyro effect which is a cause of adverse influence of power generating efficiency of a wind turbine and endurance of devices thereof. The floating offshore wind turbine includes a rotor which is rotated by wind, a nacelle in which a rotation shaft of the rotor is accommodated, and a tower including a turning seated bearing which supports the nacelle such that the nacelle can turn with respect to a sea surface to exert a weathercock effect. The tower is provided with yawing suppressing means which suppresses yawing of the nacelle. According to this, it is possible to suppress the yawing of the nacelle generated by a gyro effect caused by yawing generated in the floating body by waves of the sea surface.

  • Patent number: 5744020
Abstract: A process for treating a radioactive waste, includes drying a radioactive waste containing a radioactive substance(s) and a sodium compound(s), to convert it into a dried material, heating the dried material to convert it into a molten salt, and subjecting the molten salt to electrolysis using the salt as an anolyte and .beta.-alumina as a sodium ion-permeable membrane. This process can recover metallic sodium or sodium hydroxide, each of extremely low radioactivity from a radioactive waste containing a radioactive substance(s) and a sodium compound(s), at a high purity at a high current efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5423631
Abstract: The invention provides an antifouling structure that excels in antifouling performance and durability, dispenses with maintenance work, poses no toxicity problem, and is easily handled. The antifouling structure is in a flexible thin sheet, and comprises a copper alloy and an insulating material layer. The copper alloy has a Be content of 0.2 to 2.8% by weight. The insulating layer material, for instance, is made of at least one of methyl methacrylate-modified natural rubber, nitrile rubber and chlorinated rubber. This rubber is dissolved in a suitable solvent for primer or other treatment, coated on the required surface area of the copper alloy layer, and dried to obtain an insulating material layer having a given thickness.

  • Patent number: 4793312
Abstract: A fuel supply control arrangement for use in an internal combustion engine, which is so adapted that, in the arrangement to decrease the air/fuel ratio, i.e., to enrich the air/fuel mixture at a specific operating region by increasing the amount of fuel supply, upon transfer into the specific operating region, the fuel is once increased to an amount more than a regular fuel amount for obtaining an air/fuel ratio set in the specific operating region, so as to be restored thereafter to the regular fuel amount, whereby undesirable leaning of the air/fuel mixture at an early stage of transfer into the specific operating state, arising from adhesion of fuel onto an intake passage wall surface can be prevented.
