  • Patent number: 4397015
Abstract: In a record player, the movement of the tone arm is controlled by a select plate operated by a lever which moves the plate to a position corresponding to a record size. Adjacent the select plate is a C-shaped lever which cooperates with a rotary member. The rotary member has a plurality of cams which serve to program the operation and various movements of the tone arm. Extending from the peripheral edge of one of said cams is a brush. The tone arm is also responsive to a bracket with a wall, said wall being engaged by the brush. A position detector plate is mounted on the bracket which cooperates with a photo-interrupter to detect the position of the tone arm with respect to a record being played.

  • Patent number: 4347597
Abstract: An automatic tone arm returning device in a record player which comprises: pulse generator means for producing pulses whose cycle is proportional to the speed of the tone arm movement during record playing means for detecting the completion of record playing by measuring either the pulse width, the number of pulses produced in a unit of time, or the time interval between the pulses; and a Schmitt trigger circuit inserted between said two means and activated while the pulse is within a predetermined range of level; whereby the tone arm can be prevented from being return erroneously by the eccentric recorded grooves on record when the record is still being played.

  • Patent number: 4201390
Abstract: A semi-automatic record player with a gear-type automatic tone-arm returning apparatus includes a sliding lever and a returning lever, switching means operated by the sliding and returning levers, tone-arm elevating means, tone arm detecting means and operational means with multiple directions of operation. The operational means is adapted to make the tone-arm detecting means inactive when operating the tone-arm detecting means and the tone arm elevating means to lower the tone arm.
