Abstract: An object is to optimize the time of ink circulation by a configuration that regularly circulates an ink for agitation without decreasing the capacity of production of printed objects. To achieve this, in a case where an ink discharge operation of discharging an ink from an ejection port is performed between the last circulation operation and the next circulation operation, the circulation time in the next circulation operation is corrected.

Abstract: A printing apparatus controls an ejection timing of a printing unit such that a first distance becomes shorter than a second distance, where the first and second distances are distances in a scanning direction between a landing position at which an ink droplet lands on a printing medium in a case where the printing unit scans in a first direction and a landing position at which an ink droplet lands on the printing medium in a case where the printing unit scans in a second direction in first and second printing modes, respectively.

Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a printing-medium conveyance unit, a printhead, and a control unit. The printhead has a first array of ejection ports ejecting a first ink and a second array of ejection ports ejecting a second ink, with the ports arranged in a printing-medium conveyance direction and the arrays arranged in a predetermined direction intersecting the conveyance direction. The control unit performs control to print an image of a foundation layer and images in stack and non-stack regions on the printing medium by having the conveyance unit convey the printing medium while scanning the printhead. The control unit performs control so that in printing in the non-stack region, the image of the foundation layer is printed using an ejection-port group in the first array at the same position as an ejection-port group in the second array for printing the image in the non-stack region, in an ejection-port arrangement direction.
