  • Patent number: 10515552
Abstract: In a driving assist apparatus for assisting a lane change from an own lane to a target lane, when a post-smoothing probability obtained by smoothing a time course change in “a lane presence possibility which increases with the possibility that a target is another vehicle traveling in the target lane (target lane other vehicle)” is greater than a threshold value, that target can be extracted as the target lane other vehicle. The post-smoothing probability requires some length of time to coincide with the lane presence possibility. Therefore, if after completion of a lane change, another lane change is immediately started in the same direction, there arises a possibility that the target lane other vehicle cannot be extracted properly. Therefore, in the case where after completion of a lane change, another lane change is started in the same direction, the lane change is not started until a re-change prohibition time elapses.

  • Patent number: 10479363
Abstract: When lane change assist control for assisting a lane change from an own lane (original lane) to an adjacent target lane is performed, the determination as to whether or not another vehicle is in the target lane may be made based on the own lane width, the own vehicle's deviation from the lateral center of the own lane (own lane deviation), and the lateral position of the another vehicle. When the vehicle enters the target lane, own lane switching in which the own lane deviation changes by the lane width occurs and makes it impossible to properly perform the above determination. In view of this, after occurrence of own lane switching, the above determination is made based on a value obtained by adding the own lane width to the another vehicle lateral position or a value obtained by subtracting the own lane width from the another vehicle lateral position.

  • Patent number: 10457278
Abstract: A lane changing support apparatus includes a plurality of radar sensors and a driving support ECU. The driving support ECU determines whether or not a target object is highly likely to have entered a blind spot area of the radar sensors based on fusion target object information, when starting an extrapolation process of the fusion target object. When the driving support ECU determines that the fusion target object is highly likely to have entered the blind spot, the driving support ECU prohibits the lane changing support control to a lane in the side of this blind spot area.
