  • Publication number: 20140210953
Abstract: An image display apparatus, includes: a stereoscopic image obtaining unit which obtains a plurality of images having different points of view; a display unit which displays the plurality of images; a photographic subject selecting unit which selects a specific photographic subject in any one of the plurality of images; and a display controller which displays a line where a parallax amount of a first viewpoint image and a second viewpoint image among the plurality of images is zero and an anteroposterior relationship of the line where the parallax amount is zero and a position of the specific photographic subject in an optical axis direction in photographing a stereoscopic image in a partial display region of the display unit as a pseudo overhead view of the photographic subject which is seen from an upper side with respect to the optical axis in photographing the stereoscopic image.

  • Patent number: 8711208
Abstract: A same subject of imaging is captured continuously, one frame at a time, from plural viewpoints by imaging units, and a subject is detected from images of the captured frames, and, if plural subjects are detected, a range represented by a difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of distances between the imaging units and the subjects is computed. If a difference between a range of a specific frame and a range of a frame one before or after exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the range of the specific frame is adjusted such that the difference becomes smaller. Based on a predetermined relationship between ranges and parallax amounts corresponding to the ranges, a parallax amount corresponding to the computed range or the adjusted range is computed, and the parallax amounts and the images of the respective frames are recorded in correspondence with one another on a recording unit.

  • Patent number: 8509497
Abstract: Subtracting the date of taking a registrant's face image from the date of taking a photographic image of a person to be recognized, the number of elapsed years Y of the registrant's face image is calculated. If Y<5, an unsophisticated image comparator is selected. If 5?Y<10, a first face parts comparator is selected to calculate the degree of resemblance between the photographic image and the registrant's face image more precisely than the unsophisticated image comparator. If 10?Y, a second face parts comparator is selected. If the face image is a child's, the second face parts comparator compares the photographic image not only with the child's face image but also with his/her cognate's face image. After the photographic image is compared with every registrant's face image, the personal data of the top four registrants having the highest degree of resemblance is displayed on an LCD.

  • Publication number: 20110242346
Abstract: An object is detected from live view images photographed by two imaging sections, correspondence relationship of the detected object is detected between the two live view images and between previous and current frames, and priority degrees of detected objects are adjusted. A distance from a camera to the object is calculated, and an object movement distance between the frames is calculated from an amount of change of the camera-to-object distance, which change occurs between the frames of the live view images. A focusing position for each of objects of the highest and second highest priority degrees and for each of the next and subsequent frames is predicted from the object movement distance. Photographing is performed by focusing on each of the objects of the highest and second highest priority degrees at each of the two imaging sections in accordance with each of the predicted focusing positions.

  • Publication number: 20110018978
Abstract: Visibility at a time of stereoscopic viewing is improved by enabling parallax adjustment during shooting or reproduction of a moving image. A 3D image display apparatus includes a parallax adjustment control unit which performs parallax adjustment for the 3D image for stereoscopic viewing when receiving an instruction to perform the parallax adjustment via an interface such as a key pressing. The parallax adjustment control unit temporarily stops the 3D image for stereoscopic viewing that has being reproduced as a moving image on a display device and performs parallax adjustment. And then, the 3D image display apparatus resumes reproduction of the moving image in a manner which reflects a value obtained by the parallax adjustment.
