  • Patent number: 11154182
Abstract: An optical component assembly method including shrinking a first end of a heat shrink tube about a first optical component, inserting a loading portion of a loading tube into a second end of the heat shrink tube, radially-inserting a plurality of optical components into a staging portion of the loading tube thereby forming a line of optical components, the staging portion being seamlessly coupled to and integrally-formed with the loading portion, moving the line of optical components from the staging portion into the loading portion, and removing the loading portion from between the line of optical components and the heat shrink tube thereby depositing the line of optical components in the heat shrink tube. The line of optical components is fixed and optically aligned within the heat shrink tube by applying radial pressure, axial pressure and heat to the line of optical components simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20170100270
Abstract: The present disclosure provides one or more sleeves for positioning a stent on a stent delivery system, such as a balloon catheter. The sleeve wraps around the catheter. One or two sleeves are positioned adjacent to one or both ends of the stent without overlapping with the stent. The profile of the stent delivery system is not increased by the sleeves.

  • Patent number: 9572693
Abstract: The self-expanding stent of the present invention provides for a transition zone between the main body of the stent and the end zone, comprising a plurality of n-sided polygons where the surface area of the adjacent polygons in the transition zone is unequal. In one embodiment, the surface area of the polygons in the transition zone increases circumferentially across the transition zone in a clockwise or counterclockwise manner. The polygons are formed from two pairs of undulations which are connected by segments. The bending moment of the undulations is equal within each polygon and constant across the transition zone.

  • Patent number: 9381003
Abstract: The present disclosure generally pertains to a digital controller for surgical handpieces. The controller is programmable and configurable by software which may be used with a variety of types of handpieces. The controller is equipped with environmental sensors that detect pressure, humidity and temperature, and operational sensors that detect the angle and placement of the rotor of a motor. These sensors provide data used for testing and evaluating the function of the handpiece. A filter program is provided which removes electronic noise from collected data. The controller includes an electronic memory writer and reader to download firmware, control parameters for handpiece operation and read logged data from sensors to determine motor function. The sensor includes a hermetic enclosure constructed from a heat conducting material and that is non-ferromagnetic to allow communication between the trigger and controller.

  • Patent number: 8801714
Abstract: A rongeur including a stationary shaft having a length that terminates in a foot plate, a cutting slide slideably coupled with the stationary shaft and terminating in a cutting edge, a breach extending between the foot plate and the cutting edge for receiving human tissue, and handle means for slidably moving the cutting slide longitudinally relative to the shaft member. The cutting slide is provided with a pair of opposing tracking arms arranged about a distal end of the cutting slide and a third tracking arm arranged about the proximal end of the cutting slide. The tracking arms are slidably and detachably received within corresponding tracking slots in the shaft member when the rongeur is in a closed position. The tracking arms are disengaged from the tracking slots by rotating the cutting slide about a pivot axis that extends substantially parallel to the length of the shaft member thereby placing the rongeur in an open position.
