  • Patent number: 6363815
Abstract: The invention provides a transmission mechanism for use in a vehicle including a vehicle body having one side toward a first direction along the length thereof and the other side toward a second direction opposite to the first direction, the vehicle comprising a differential gear unit 11, an HST 8 and an engine 7 which are arranged in the vehicle body from the first direction side toward the second direction. A transmission 10 is provided between the differential gear unit 11 and the HST 8, whereby the power of the engine 7 is transmitted through the transmission 10 and input to the HST 8 at the first direction side thereof. The transmission mechanism of simple construction serves to shorten the overall length of the vehicle while preventing the rise of the center of gravity of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20010007212
Abstract: The present invention provides a vehicle travelling control apparatus for a vehicle with an HST and a mechanical transmission, which are connected in tandem to each other and interposed in a travelling power transmission path between a driving power source and driving wheels. The vehicle travelling control apparatus includes a speed-change control mechanism which in turn includes a signal detection part and a control part for controlling the changing of the output speed of the HST and the shifting operation of the mechanical transmission. The signal detection part includes a load-torque detection means for detecting the load torque with respect to the vehicle. The control part is designed to control the mechanical transmission and the HST based upon the detected results by the load-torque detection means so that where the vehicle lies in a high load torque state, the control part downshifts the mechanical transmission to a lower speed stage, while increasing the output speed of the HST.

  • Patent number: 5617936
Abstract: In a synchromesh change transmission which is disposed between parallel aligned input and output shafts (12, 13) and includes synchronizer clutches (34, 35) mounted on the input shaft, a neutral brake (45) is disposed on the output shaft in a face-to-face relationship, as viewed in a direction across the shafts, with one (35) of the clutches. The brake comprises a cylindrical member (46), as a stationary brake member, which is engaged by an element (37) of the one clutch so as to be prevented from a rotational displacement. First and second sets of frictional elements (48, 49) of the brake are supported respectively by the output shaft and by the cylindrical member. The brake is adapted to be actuated by a control mechanism (59) for the clutches in a neutral condition of the change transmission preferably through a sliding rod (66) and through a rotatable ring member (54) mounted on the output shaft. A simple and compact arrangement of the brake mechanism is provided.

  • Patent number: 5462148
Abstract: In a vehicle multi-ratio transmission comprising a plurality of change-speed gear trains, including a backward directional gear train, with which synchronizer clutches are associated for actuating same, two multidisc-type synchronizer clutches (12) are employed for actuating one of forward directional gear trains, which is operated under a heavy condition, and for actuating the backward directional gear train. Cone-type synchronizer clutches (11) are employed for actuating the other gear trains. Seizing of clutch members as well as an unexpected start of the vehicle at a neutral condition of the transmission are well prevented and increase of cost for securing these advantages is suppressed.

  • Patent number: 5086895
Abstract: A brake-operating member (46; 46A; 81) is fixedly carried by a control shaft (36; 79) of a gear-shifting mechanism. The shaft is given, using a change lever (35), selectively one and the other of sliding and rotational movements for gear-selecting and gear-shifting purposes. The operating member is disposed such that it is displaced, when the control shaft is slidingly or rotationally moved to a position where a movable brake-actuating member (48; 79) is engaged with the control shaft through the operating member. The actuating member is moved at the operative position of operating member by the rotational or sliding movement of control shaft so as to actuate a parking brake (28; 71).
