  • Patent number: 7941068
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a discharge tray determination device and a print controller. The discharge tray determination device determines a discharge tray for sample print output from available discharge trays specifiable by the image forming apparatus. The print controller divides a print job into print processes and controls print output in response to a sample print output request to cause a print process for sample print output for specifying the discharge tray determined by the discharge tray determination device to interrupt the print job.

  • Patent number: 7745617
Abstract: A mixed crystal consists of a first metallophthalocyanine compound selected from metallophthalocyanine compounds having at least one trifluoromethyl group and having a central metal selected from the group consisting of cobalt, nickel and copper, and a second metallophthalocyanine compound selected from metallophthalocyanine compounds optionally having at least one substituent group other than trifluoromethyl group and having a central metal selected from the group consisting of cobalt, nickel and copper. The mixed crystal exhibits a peak at 2? of 5.9 to 6.4° in X-ray diffractometry.

  • Patent number: 7679775
Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided with an orientation setting part for setting a readable orientation of a document that enables an operator of the image forming apparatus to readily read and understand an image on the document when carrying out an image forming process to form the image on a recording medium, a folding direction setting part for setting a folding direction in which a Z-fold of the recording medium is to be made after the image forming process, and a Z-fold part for forming the Z-fold on the recording medium, based on the readable orientation and the folding direction.

  • Patent number: 7595903
Abstract: The collaboration among the image forming devices is practiced on the computer network for efficiently utilizing the printing resources. When a large print job is requested, the parent image forming device seeks an appropriate child image forming device to share the same print job during a predetermined collaboration process. To minimize the waste and maximize the productivity during the collaboration process, the parent device ascertains that the child device is able to complete a part of the collaboration print job before the corresponding image data is transferred from the parent device to the child device. One of the resources that the parent device ascertains is the available memory amount at the child device for the image data to be transferred. If a sufficient amount of memory is not available at the child device, the image data is transferred to prevent an incomplete collaboration task at the child device.

  • Patent number: 5556966
Abstract: A process for the production of an aluminum phthalocyanine composition or a halogenated aluminum phthalocyanine composition in high yield and purity is provided which entails bringing a molten salt of aluminum chloride and/or aluminum bromide and a phthalocyanine compound having a central element other than aluminum into contact with each other in a predetermined temperature range thereby to substitute aluminum for the central element. Alternatively, the process involves conducting the aforementioned step, and introducing a halogen into the resultant reaction mixture.
